I've been testing playing SD TV recordings in graphstudio and I've noticed that where Cyberlink decoder averages 15% CPU with peaks around 20-23% (makes no difference if set to SW or DXVA mode), Elecard and ATI MPEG decoders average around 5% with peaks around 10% (on my P4/2600XT).

I know you mention some problems with Elecard in the first post (but maybe they've been fixed now?) but if that's still no good, perhaps us ATI owners could use the ATI decoder for MPEG decoding?

Where do you get teh ATi decoder? I thought it was older..?

It was bundled with Cat 9.12 AGP Hotfix. I've uploaded it (it's 1.6MB) to save you downloading all 178MB!

Holy balls doveman! Thanks.

How does it perform? I've got an integrated HD3200 though I'm using my HD5750. My HD5750 allows me to do VA DXVA for MPEG2. I did notice the other day about the same CPU usage as you with the Cyberlink decoder but since no one else had asked the question I just ignored it.. (have not been able to use DXVA for MPEG2 with the HD3200, so I did not know what to expect).

I've only tested it in graphstudio so far but if you look up about 4 posts, you'll see how I found it compares to the Cyberlink decoder

Sorry mate, I saw it I just meant in terms of visual performance, any notable difference or just lower CPU?
