"Pass through" seems to be broken in the last builds.

    Anyone can confirm this?

BTW, AC3 filter are not able to decoder AC3+ (TrueHD) audio, so if you his such media, do not be surprised :)

test3 worked fine for me, i'll try test5 tonight.

    Quick question:
I have a collection of standard definition MKV files (x264). I would like to postprocess these files the same as i do with lores avi xvids with ffdshow. I dont care for DXVA on these files. I tried to set ffdshow to load a preset if resolution is lower than 720x576 (pal), but it does not load in graphedit. Tried setting raw to all supported, and it loads every time, also on HD material.

    I'm usling SAF 4.0 beta 23
    Does anyone have any idea?

Lasborg - maybe this is because by default h264 is not done by ffdshow filter, it is done by the MPC-HC filter.

Ok, but is it not possible to have ffdshow load after MPC filter, only in the specific instances.

Since postprocessing with ffdshow after mpcvideodec will loose DXVA, why not just decode and postprocessing both in ffdshow?
Personally I've never tried to create a profile based on what filter came first in the graph, so i can't really help you.

Not sure about this... but .... if ffdshow loads after mpcvideodec, you will loose DXVA for all videos. I imagine that ffdshow has to be in the graph after mpcvideodec to be able to analyse the video/filters in front, so even if it doesn't postprocess ie 720P mkv files, it still may ruin the DXVA for theese files.

    ... recoding files.
But I'm not sure if it is a MediaPortal bug or a SAF bug. I am sure it is a bug in one of those since it is working in all kinds of players, with internal and external decoding, outside Mediaportal.

    @ Hoborg,
Did you already receive a sample from Henric?

It is not recoding, it will only change container from MP4 to MKV.

    Still no sample...

I'm at work and not in the position to (and have never done so before) cut off a sample file from the original file, but you can find a complete file in 11 parts here:

    Some fileinfo:
    Format: MP4
    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 640x360 [Video]
    Audio: AAC 22050Hz stereo 705kbps

Is it ok like this or do you still need a sample?
I hope you can provide a solution for the audiolagging that occurs in MediaPortal because I have these files about two or three times a week... :)

Just thought I'd mention, this is perhaps the single best tip for ATI owners, from the front page of this thread.

    - for best MPEG-2 video quality on ATI, enable "Edge enhancement" + "de-noise" and move sliders to "1"

By default, Edge Enhancement if off and de-noise is at 50. The difference in PQ is amazing with ffdshow and DXVA.
