AW: Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

    Hi

If I disable autoThumb generation it still wont work.

If I set it to "Automatic decoder settings" in the codecs part of MP config I'm able to play xvid file. This although breaks playback of MKV files.

So somehow MP/SAF is not passing the files to the right filters.

Yes, problem seems to be only for *.AVI files.
I bet somethink was changed in MP 1.1.0 RC1...

    EDIT:
please try apply this registry patch:
    http://www.volny.cz/hoborg/avi_fix_for_MP110RC1.zip

Big :D Now all is working fine here!

    Yess it works..

    Thx a bunch hoborg.

Both avi and mkv works correctly now.

Read the reg file and you just associate avi with the right filters, genius. :)

I bet something was changed in MP 1.1.0 RC1, becouse there is no problem in graphstudio...

    Yes, you are right.
It was originally "assigned" to "File Source (Async.)" becouse some AVIs doesnot work with haali.
And as i wrote before, i didnt change this setting since summer and it was working in MP 1.1.0 SVN, so there must be some change in MP 1.1.0 RC1.

No problem to add this patch to SAF.

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Till yesterday for some strange reason I was able to play m2ts files with pgs subs and multiple audiotracks. But now i can't anymore. Subs are gone and I can't switch audio neighter.
I tried with uninstalling Haali(ts support disabled), mpc Mpegsplitter and reinstall everything as it should, but no go.

I am having exactly the same issues with RC1 :( SAF works perfectly otherwise, so I don't really want to re-install separate codecs in order to solve this :(

Any ideas as to what the solution might be?

Mux m2ts in to MKV will fix multiple audiotracks issue.

Hoborg, thanks for the fast reply...

Unfortunately i have quoted the wrong problem :$ The problem I am having is this:

Hey Hoborg, I'm actually having some DVD playback problems all of a sudden.

    1. First of all, when I insert a DVD it starts normally, displaying the menu as it should. When I press the "play now" button however, the audio starts but the image is locked to the menu screen. If I use the Mediaportal menu to change chapter, the video starts displaying normally as well.

    2. The worst thing though, is that after playing for maybe 5-10 minutes the screen goes all black. The audio continues to play normally. At this point I can't interrupt playback with any means. I can't reach the desktop nor the MP GUI. I am forced to make a hard reboot.

I would have enclosed logs as usual, but how do I log a problem that results in a BSOD ("Black Screen" in this case)?

    It is hard to tell.
Do you have Any "on the fly" DVD decrypter installed?
Check if ffdshow video and audio decoders + MS DVD navigator are in use.

Cheers working fine now in MP and MPC-HC!

Prior to installing I uninstalled all codecs etc and now when I try to play any files in ZoomPlayer , it plays as audio only - both SD and x264 files.
I'm loathe to install all codec packs again - any ideas?

    Thanks

I tried it on my other htpc (also running Win7, but this one is 32bit) and the problem is the same.

I have also tried enabling and disabling AnyDVD, but so far that has not helped. When running GraphStudio I see no 'strange' filters, only FFdshow and DVD Navigator.

    [Update]
I think i have the problem narrowed down to FFDshow... After having uninstalled SAF, I tried getting it to work with seperate codecs. However the problem kept occuring. When i set the Video codec to any thing other than FFDshow, the problem is gone. If I then add FFDshow to post processing (as a test), the problem was back again...

    *Gonna keep on trying*
