Yes I suspected this might be a known issue. What I thought might be of interest is that the older version of PDVD (the one in SAF4 beta 22) seems to work much better than current versions...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

If anyboby interested in VC-1i DXVA decoding testing:

    I created this test build

If you have unlocked SAF, new message popup durning install and ask if VC-1 DXVA should be enabled.
If you enable it, you will be now able to play VC-1i in *.M2TS files using DXVA but you will loose switching between multiple audio streams and subtitle support for all M2TS video files with VC-1 (i/p) video streams.
This can fix some VC-1p playback problems too.

Please test and give me known if i can add this feature to regular SAF too.

    you're great :)

but the fact i'll loose audio e sub switching is not praticable for me all mt2s file have mutilanguage and subtitles......

could it be fixed after we are sure the video is working ? if yes i'm going to test it in the next weekend ;)

You will loose them only for M2TS with VC-1 inside, not h.264.
And audio strem switching needs to be supported by MePo (i doubt it will be ever supported), but subtitles - maybe external subs only.

    i need a clarification ...sorry :)

ok for h.264, but many BD are in VC-1p ad now Mp support the stream switching, may i know what change with your solution for VC-1p ?

if will not possible change stream in Vc-1i in not a big problem actually i can see no vc-1i at all , so it will be better
but loose stream switching with vc-1p uhmmm..... italian is not ever in the first stream so i'll have to see all VC1 BD in english without sub :(

    have i undestood well ? ;)

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

hoborg, thank you very much for your hard work with SAF! I have yet to test the video side of things fully (awaiting for my new TV to be delivered), however audio passthrough seems to be working like a dream now!

My only query is that upon installation, the following were NOT checked in ffdshow audio under the Output section:

    DTS
    Connect as PCM first
[Connect to:] DirectSound & Apply only to S/PDIF output

I have enabled the above as per your screenshot in the SAF v4.00 thread. Have I done the right thing? Or is there a reason for why these are not checked for SAF v5.00?
