Cant play files with either DTS-HD and/or True-HD have tryed borg SAF5 and 4 and standalone ffdshow, but just acnt seem to get movies with thoose sound formats to start, PLEASE HELP anyone !?!? :(

Make sure you disabled HD audio passthrough and try to open these files in graphstudio.

Oki, but if i disable dts-hd and truehd i Will not get that Audio out as i want right?
Were can i find graphstudio and what does this help me?
As i can play all My 1080p releases with standalone MPC with DTS-HD & TrueHD but not within mediaportal!?!?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi there,

I am currently having problems playing MOV files with SAF5 (running the latest version).

The audio keeps cutting in and out and then eventually goes. I am running MePo 1.2.0 on Windows 7x64 to a Sony surround amp via SPDIF.

The MOV is a movie taken from a Pansonic Lumix camera - The audio is 2 Channel 16KHz 16 bit (big/signed) format. (Video is MJPEG)

It does not play right in Graphstudio (so its not Mepo).

I have tried resampling with FFD to 44.1 and 48 as I'm not sure if my amp suports 16KHz.

I know a while ago I could play these files ok (when using QT Alternative) - they also play fine with Windows Mediaplayer.

If you need any logs/samples please let me know.

    Thanks,

    J.

I have the same problem in MP.
    As described:
    Hi,
If SAF is installed and PDVD is selected in MP for video AND audio (Video tab) it seems that ffdshow settings for audio are still valid regarding e.g. passthrough.
    Is this true?

So, if I disable passthrough (for DTS) a video with DTS plays with sound if I enable it it won't play.
With SAF 4.0 beta8 (before ffdshow was introduced) it played audio with DTS with passthrough enabled in MP configuration for the corresponding codec (MPA codec or PDVD codec for audio).
Now I'm wondering if video codecs (in video tab) selected in MP are taken. In Graphstudio it always shows ffdshow Video codec. Does MP overrule the video codec with the selection in MP?

    regards
    bart
Right now I have in ffdshow audio:
    - no mixer selected.
    - (only) AC3 passthrough.
With this it plays at least the videos without getting DTS (HD) through. However, it worked with the same movie in SAF4.0beta8.
I have just selected PDVD for all codecs in video.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve the problem?

    Hi Hoborg,
Is my assumption correct that having SAF 5 installed, it doesn't matter what I have selected for audio codec in MP it will always take the settings and codec of ffdshow audio?

    thanks

Nope, MePo selected decoder should be in use.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi... just asking for a bit of advice... I am running windows 7 x64 on my systems, one a core i7 with a nvidia 9800GT, one a core i3 using the CPU powered graphics, and one an AMD x2 330 with the 880g (radeon 4200) graphics.

I am currently using the MS codecs with Haali installed, would I gain any performance or compatibility improvement by installing SAF? I am mainly watching xvid avi's or h.264 mkv files aside from my MP recorded/live tv.

    Thanks

Ok. But then I don't understand why it changes the behavior (.mkv video can be played with sound vs. video can not be played, etc) when I change the output (passthrough) in ffdshow audio, but in MePo I just have PDVD codecs selected.
Do you have any idea how I can check which codec is used while playing video?

    thanks

Connect graphstudio to MePo durning video playback.
