Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Nope, MePo selected decoder should be in use.

Ok. But then I don't understand why it changes the behavior (.mkv video can be played with sound vs. video can not be played, etc) when I change the output (passthrough) in ffdshow audio, but in MePo I just have PDVD codecs selected.
Do you have any idea how I can check which codec is used while playing video?

thanks
bart

Connect graphstudio to MePo durning video playback.

... and I do this by starting MePo, starting video, then starting graphstudio, select in graphstudio under Options-->DirectConnectMode? right?

    Hello hoborg and all!
I have a problem whit some video file.
    I post my configuration software:
    - Windows 7 64Bit
    - Mediaportal 1.1.0 final
    - saf 5.0 svn101102 (with S/Pdif pass-through=Yes because I use Yamaha Rx-V357 amplifier)
    - PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II build 2113
    - dshowhelper.dll v.037 (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...nter-dshowhelper-community-development-81148/)
    - dynamic refresh rate disable
    - Video Codecs:
    a) mpeg-2 Video Decoder: ffdshow Video Decoder
    b) H.264 Video Decoder: ffdshow DXVA Video Decoder
    c) MPEG/AC3 audio decoder: ffdshow Audio Decoder
    d) AAC audio decoder: ffdshow Audio Decoder
    e) Audio renderer: Directsound Audio digitale (S/PDIF)
    - ffdshow audio decoder setting like attanchment
    I downloaded these video files:
    - Download CLANNAD_Blu-ray_BOX_Eizou_Tokuten_-_NCED_BD_H264_720p_24fps_DTS-HDMA_5.1ch_FLAC_5.1ch.mkv for free on Filesonic.com
    - Download Coalgirls-QTS_Kanon_OP_Blu-ray_Box_Eizou_Tokuten_1920x1080_H264-DXVA_FLAC_DTS-HD_MA.mkv for free on Filesonic.com
Each file is has DTS-HD audio track. I can't play them with Mediaportal. Could you please help me and test them?
I thought it was a audio HD problem, then I downloaded also this file:
    Download Center - Demo World
    Download Center - Demo World
I found a strange problem. With Graphstudio if I press play, the fist time video don't start. If I press play another time, video begins to play and audio is perfect. In Mediaportal all two video don't start.
    Could you please test them?
    Many thanks

    salseropg:
Try to use Default direct sound audio renderer instead of SPDIF.

I used Default direct sound audio renderer instead of SPDIF.
Nothing happened. I have the same problem. With Graphstudio if I press play, the fist time video don't start: EVR video Windows start but video don't start. If I press play another time, video begins to play and audio is perfect. In Mediaportal all two video don't start. MKV files have the same problems in Graphstudio but also audio don't work.

OK. This time uncheck DTS audio passthrough and try again.

I unchecked DTS audio passthrough and now all works fine.
Why DTS HD audio don't work fine?
P.S.: Many thanks hoborg for work job

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi... just asking for a bit of advice... I am running windows 7 x64 on my systems, one a core i7 with a nvidia 9800GT, one a core i3 using the CPU powered graphics, and one an AMD x2 330 with the 880g (radeon 4200) graphics.

I am currently using the MS codecs with Haali installed, would I gain any performance or compatibility improvement by installing SAF? I am mainly watching xvid avi's or h.264 mkv files aside from my MP recorded/live tv.

    Thanks

    bob

Sorry to bump this, just wondered if there was a straight answer... on a x64 win7 build, will I get better performance with the SAF codecs than the MS codecs that I currently have setup to manage everything?

You will be able to play much more formats if you have SAF5 installed.
