Huh!? But I use PDVD also for 1080P MKV files. Would it be better to use FFdhow then??
Sorry that I question allot...
Will ffdshow eventually do DXVA for MPEG-2 as well as H.264?
Running V5.00 now. Working well so far here.
I'm running W7 - a clean, rebuilt-from-scratch PC. I didn't install any codecs or players, and installed SAF 4.1 (i.e. "5.0"). I did this on two PCs during complete rebuilds. On the other PC I installed the current 4.0. On both machines, the SAF installation program tells me that my DirectX needs updating. On the 4.0 machine, I tried installing the DirectX that it asked for but the install failed (no need to update; already has latest versions).
On this machine, with SAF 5.0, (which has DirectX built-in I believe), I get the error "Unable to execute the required file: The following system error has occurred: The system cannot find the file specified. (2)" If I click on OK, Windows pops up a "Move File: Move and Replace?" for language.CZE.xml and then continues on with the installation.
I'll include the logs if it helps.
I also notice that the ffdshow audio decoder configuration dialog box pops up at the end of the installation. I didn't see any instructions on what I'm supposed to do with this, so I normally just close it.
No.
And there are no reason for it
Decoding of MPEG-2 will use ~20% of Intel Atom CPU and deinterlacing is done by GPU if you have modern one.
Not true, DXVA will do GPU decoding + GPU deinterlacing.I always thought DXVA included hardware de-interlacing. Now I get it. DXVA is just acceleration of the video decoding process.
Any idea why I can't play mkv's with more than 2 AC3 channels?
