Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

hoborg:

I have tried FFDshow audio subtitle engine, but i only could get subtitles when they are external, when i have the "*.srt" file, because when i have the subtitle inside the "*.mkv" in MePo don't show any subtitle.

Have i done something wrong?

Looks llike yes, becouse i have no problem at all.
Try playback in graphstudio, you can look on FFDShow video decoder system try icon for available subtitles.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

apologise if this has been asked and responded to previously , but does anyone know how i can force ffdshow dxva for VC-1 *.m2ts files, it seems to play only with ffdshow not dxva. but then i'm see stuttering. and when i see it in graphedit i see something like wmvideo which seems to be a default microsoft codec and it's not doing any dxva so it is stuttering , anyone have any ideas?

If i disable this through the saf options, it then doesn't put in any video filter in graphedit so it won't play, do i need to install wmphc to get this one working and set it to do the hardware acceleration or should ffdshow dxva work on VC-1 files? I'm pretty certain they are progressive and not interlaced

I bet your video is VC-1i - interlaced VC-1 is not supported by any free direct show decoder.

@JSorrentino:
First graph is wrong, second is OK.
Did you tested for example video with 7.1 FLAC audio?

Yes, my receiver works fine, 7.1 output PCM.

As for the graphs, i said the 1st graph was the issue (which was resolved by removing ffdshow from post-processing).

Hope this info helps you / others.

You have 7.1 PCM? I thought that is not possible..

Output at receiver level, from the raw file showed PCM with 7.1 speakers being used. Maybe it's duplicating the rears to the sides, honestly not sure. I need to dig into the specs on the format and the receiver to know for sure. I can tell you PCM is the mode showed on the receiver when playing the file, receiver shows all 7 speakers and the sub (LFE) as in use.

    I ran into the same problem and spent two hours trying to track down the problem :mad:
    I had a MKV with forced subs and they would not show in MP, but the would show in GS. Connecting to the remote graph running MP I found that the subs were being sent to MPC-HC subtile engine by MP... I fixed my setup by disabling the engine in Config->Videos->Subtile. Subs work with ffdshow dxva now, just need to figure out how to increase the font size :oops:
