Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello,

I have a problem with video playing mkvs or bluray movies. During long tracking shots the video playback judder \ stutter \is not smooth \ jumps.
I'm using windows XP, MP RC2, saf (it's doing the same with saf 4 and saf 5), nvidia 9400 with (182.50 driver but it's the same with other driver version). The CPU is Intel E8400.

Can you help me find out what's causing this?

thank you,

hoborg:

When i apply the patch audio/subtitle that you indicate in the first page, i can only have subtitles by MPC-HC subtitle engine, i can't with FFDshow subtitle engine, is this correct?

AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi Hoborg,

i'm using windows media player for some things. Is it correct that WMP now uses ffdshow DXVA video codec for MKV Files? Problem is that it seems to use 80-90% CPU. No idea why. Normally i use PDVD or MS DTV Codec for DXVA stuff - these work fine.

Do I need in SAF5 with MP 1.1 RC2 the postprocessing for passthrough?

Try to play video with at last 5.1 AAC/FLAC and see yourself.

If I try this with AC3 encoding enabled it should be re-encoded to AC3 and passed to my receive correct? And if I check the boxes for DD or DTS passthrough they would not be re-encoded right?

    Thanks

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've tried to play a bluray. Unfortunately it's very laggy in mediaportal. I've added the movie in MovingPictures and installed the Bluray handler plugin and added mt2s/mpls to extensions.

    I've attached 3 graphedit logs:
    One playing mt2s fine.
One attached to MePo with internal MPC sub enabled -> high cpu load
One attached to MePo with internal MPC sub disabled -> high cpu load

    What is wrong here?

Should internal sub be enabled or disabled now that ffdshow handles it better?

Last screenshot is OK, DXVA decoder is in use. Try to play m2ts file in graphstudio to eliminate player problem.

I talked with armandp and he said that the MPC - mpeg source is forced to load. Does this work with ffdshow dvxa? Didn't work by me as seen here as dvxa was not active.

Am i right in mpc -mpeg source ain't working with ffdshow dvax. It only works with mpc video dec?

This was tested with latest svn.

hoborg, this video has issues playing. (choppy, stuttering, pausing and unpausing causes it to skip around) Any ideas?

edit: added second graph (drag and drop to graphstudio). Plays fine in GS.

Comparing the two, you notice the commentary audio tracks showing up in the first graph (connect to remote graph with MePo playng the video).

edit2: remove ffdshow from post processing and all works fine... (Pioneer SC-27 Receiver / HDMI).

Works perfect for me... PCM is just quieter, I need to increase my volume +5dB. (test with AAC)

First graph is wrong, second is OK.
Did you tested for example video with 7.1 FLAC audio?

    hoborg:

I have tried FFDshow audio subtitle engine, but i only could get subtitles when they are external, when i have the "*.srt" file, because when i have the subtitle inside the "*.mkv" in MePo don't show any subtitle.

    Have i done something wrong?
