Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've got 2 movies with 5.1 aac codec, but it only decodes as 2.0. I'm using win 7... What can I do?
Thanks

How you setup your audio output? There is only stereo output as default if audio passthrough is not enabled.

Both DD and DTS are enabled for passthrough

No idea. Open you file in graphstudio and check audio IN and OUT pins. This way you can track where 5.1 changes to 2.0.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi to all,

I'm planing on uninstalling SAF 4.0 and installing SAF 5.0, I need some clarification about the warning:

!!! Warning !!!
Do not enable audio pass through during SAF install if you are using MePo audio renderer!

My PC SPDIF out is connected to a receiver, and till now I don't remember doing anything special with SAF 4.0 installed.

Where in MePo should I look for it before installing SAF 5.0

Many thanks in advance

Did you installed MePo audio renderer?

Not per se, I'm installing (in process of) the latest MePo alone, never installed before MePo audio renderer by itself, and planning on installing the latest SAF 5.0.

    Hi there,

    Just for clarity...

If you are using MePo with an external amp/AV unit then enable SPDIF/HDMI passthru

If you are using MePo without an external amp/AV unit do NOT enable SPDIF/HDMI passthru

If you are testing the MePo Audio Renderer (that has to be specifically downloaded/is seperate to MePo, and is currently in testing phase alpha/beta - so should not be run by most people using their live HTPC) then do NOT enable SPDIF/HDMI passthru

    Hope that helps...

    J.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Something is a miss when using Reclock and trying to playback .mkv with FLAC audio using madFlac.

madFlac does not appear in the graph and the audio stream connects straight to Reclock, which obviously won't work and I receive "invalid arg" error. Likewise If I enable ffdshow to decode FLAC I get the same.

No issues in MPC-HC. Any suggestions? Just installed latest version of SAF 5

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Outside of Mediaportal in Graphstudio and MPC-HC there are no issues and ffdshow or madFlac connect to Reclock no problem, in Mediaportal no decoder is being used for some reason?

    Here is the Screenshot

    Hi.
I was able to reproduce the problem here on Intel Atom.

But i have no idea what can cause it :/

OK, thank you for testing. I also have no idea anymore. Can you keep this Problem in mind for future testing and Releases of SAF?

I think this is a FFDShow Audio decoder problem because the file plays fine in WMP and MPC-HC (internal QTPCM Filter activated)

    best regards

I reported your issue on FFDshow thread, if you can, comment it here.
