Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Hoborg, thanks for the reply. I have a Q6600 Quad core cpu.

I havent actually tried it in Graphstudio - sorry to be ignorant but how exactly do I do that? Also, is Graphstudio included in SAF?

I didnt change anything what can have effect on AR.
START-SAF-Tools- graphstudio. Open your video here and hit play - is AR OK?
If yes, SAF working as it should.

    Hi Hoborg,

I opened the file in GraphStudio and the black bars were there too. I can send you a screenshot if you like, is there a way to make one within graphstudio or do I need to use an external program? Perhaps it has something to do with msvc2010?

I have the same issue with msvc2010 build - was fine previously..

IFC works fine, but I don't like IFC because it keeps continually changing the aspect ratio and also at times, adjusts the picture and it ends up being partially off screen.

I have uninstalled IFC GUI plugin, disabled IFC plugin, and switched stretch off and back on in MePo settings and now stretch works again.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I'm using SAF 5 now and bumped into this problem:
I have an m2ts file of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with DTS-HD.

If I'm using SAF 5 with the standard settings for audio: Dolby Digital output only.
I plays fine but al my files will play in Dolby Digital 5.1 not DTS.
If I turn DTS on in the audio settings of FFdshow the Scott pilgrim movie won't play.
Everything else runs fine in DTS then.

    Any solution for this?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I have problems with no audio on some DVD's. On others I have bad/shifting sound between digital/DTS on my reciever (though it is 5.1 audio).
I do not now if it is mediaportal 1.2.0 Alpha or SAF package that is the problem. Tried the newest SAF package, but still the same problem :(
TV, mks, divX and so on works just fine...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Can someone please give me some advice..

I have my HTPC using SAF 5.00 unlocked and feeding into my Onkyo HTX-22HDX sound system over HDMI.

I only use FFDShow for audio, but I am struggling to figure out the best settings..

I have passthrough enabled for all audio types, and if I play a Bluray rip (using TMT3) then I get DTS HD etc.. I have no sound card fitted at the moment, I am just using my GTX460 for the sound. I have the onboard sound disabled, and I also have a Xonar DS I could use if necessary.

In Windows 7 x64, I have the speaker configuration set to 5.1 - I am not sure this is correct?

I am trying to get the best all round config for audio - I would like MP3's to play through the front and centre speaker if possible, although it only seems to come from the front speakers?

I'm pretty much baffled now, and seem to have tried endless options!!

Does anyone have details of their audio config for FFDShow for a similar setup?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Oh, just to add.. I have the Onkyo set to "Direct" mode, as the others don't seem to work with bitstreaming..

Nevermind I solved the problem by installing Blu-ray handler. Everything works fine now :D

    glenb83:

I tested your sample with saf500svn101018.exe and MSVC2010 builds, both have the same result.
Acording to your sample, left and right black borders are located inside the video.

BTW, this video i made by you?
Your sample is in AVI, but it is h.264 - no idea why you put h.264 in to AVI, AVI is not designed for such format.
Your sample is marked as progresive, but it is interlaced.

    Hi Hoborg,

This is just a small sample of numerous files that have the same symptoms. The videos themself may have the black bars encoded in the video, but in the versions previous to the latest the video file I sent (the full version equivalent) and all the others were successfully stretched so there were no black bars. I will reinstall the old SAF version previous for the meantime until a fix is found.

I just used a simple video conversion to do the small sample, I wasnt too worried about container type etc, just wanted to send you a sample so you could see what I meant.
