Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Hoborg,

Thank for your reply.
You are right DTS-HD works perfectly with my HDMI output of my ATI video card.
But in this situation, I'm using the COAX output of my motherboard (realtek) connected to Logitech Z5500 speakers.

Win7 + SAF 5.0
GraphStudio for a DTS-HD audio (and AVC video) tells me
ffdshow DXVA Video Decoder
ffdshow Audio Decoder

If I changed the AAC Audio decoder (Yes the AAC one) in MePo to "MPC - MPA Decoder Filter" the DTS-HD works with digital sound but my video jerks a little.
But if I have Dscaler Audio decoder in "MPEG / AC3 audio decoder", there are no jerks in the video playing.

Miranda:
SPDIF is not capable do DTS-HD, HDMI need to be used.

Thanks hoborg, seems to be logical, I forgot this important thing.
I suppose "MPC - MPA Decoder Filter" & "Dscaler Audio decoder" converts (or downgrade) the DTS-HD to DTS?

Yes, it looks like they do.
BTW, dscaler is realy old, are you sure it support DTS-HD audio decoding?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Is like you said hoborg, It seems logical that dscaler can't support DTS-HD because it didn't exist at this time.

But for me it's not important to have DTS-HD. I would very appreciated if I could have digital sound, and downmix to DTS is more then enough.

It should be more easy to downmix the original audio from DTS-HD to DTS then to reencode all the DTS-HD audio bluray's that will be more and more present in the future, I didn't succeeded untill now with ffdshow and the spdif connexion :(

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi together (sorry for my bad english),

i have some problems to play my blue rays (full structure rips) with the blueray handler and saf5.

if the blueray have dts audio and in ffdshow audio dts passtrough is activated the mp can't play the blueray. the mp want to start the blueray, but only a blackscreen are appear for 1 second and then the mp is back in the structure of the blueray.

when i play the blueray with the mpc-hc (directory) the blueray are played with dts sound over optical spdif.

some ideas?

There is no open source DTS decoder available, so SAF (FFDshow) decode DTS-HD to PCM then encode it to AC3 and passthrough it (if you enable passthrough).

Actually ffdshow doesnt decode DTS-HD, but instead uses the DTS core - which is same as DTS and can be pass thru directly without the decode & encode steps. Of course ffdshow might decode the DTS to be able to process (downsample etc) and then re-encode to AC3.

Yes exactly same problem for me gunterdd!

    What you can test

    1) register MpaDecFilter.ax from the standalone filters of MPC-HD that you can find Media Player Classic Home Cinema (x86/x64) - XvidVideo.RU

    2) In MePo configuration, Codecs and Renderer - MPC - MPA Decoder => select S/PDIF for AC3 & DTS

    3) Still in MePo configuration, Codecs and Renderer, tab Video Codecs
For AAC Audio decoder you select MPC - MPA Decoder Filter

I'm using win7-64bit, saf500svn101018_msvc2008.exe and MpaDecFilter.ax from the standalone_filters-1.4.2667_x86 and it works for me to have DTS-HD Bluray in DTS but the video jerks a little (you can see it with very concentrated eyes and on travelling scenes)

    Hi Hoborg.

Will it be possible for SAF 5.0 to support streaming filters like sopcast, tvants and other p2p streaming protocols?

    Ex. http://download.sopcast.cn/download/SopFilter.zip

Would be nice to use p2p streaming links in Onlinevideos and automatic support when SAF is installed
