AW: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

I reinstalled SAF and I got the problem back that opening a file takes ages.

you thougth the problem is ffdshow...so I decided to uinstall SAF install ffdshow and lav - results have been that it opens fast like always.
I set up ffdshow to use quicksync and did some testing.
Cpu load while playing a 1080p hd mkv was around up to 30% when using lav software decoding.
With ffdshow and quicksync max cpu usage was 9.75%

What I still like to know is:
Whats the thing in SAF package that slows down file opening times?
Why does my picture while using lav with quicksync look weird?

yes, logs added (to the original post). I did not enable passthrough, I just have my (old) amplifier hooked up to the earphone jack of the sound card.

Strange, i didnt see why it should not work, it is simple MPEG audio.
But there is some error about adio switcher was not loaded - this filter is part of MePo, check if it is crrectly registered in to the system. I saw some thread about problems with this filter.

Ok, so I have at least gotten somewhere. It seems as though the uninstall of LAV through SAf when LAV was installed through the extension installer has been part of the problem (since the extension installer still thought that LAVF was installed - and they seem to use different paths). After uninstalling the LAVF extension and then reinstalling SAF6.04 I was able to start LAV from MePo (at least through TV-series plugin - still hangs with Live-TV but lets wait with that problem). Now I am able to start a video and video is fine except for no sound. When I check the log it says something about "Hearing impaired" on the audio stream ... can this be the cause of the problem? And what does it mean? The file plays fine in MPC-HC. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Good day. Can anybody help me. Installed SAF 6.02. How can i configure lav audio to play SACD files (*.wav, *.dts) 6 channels in Mediaportal. My Denon connected via HDMI. DD and DTS passthru is ON in config, but i hear only noise. With video works fine. With AC3 filter works fine. Sorry for my english.

to view VC-1 with Cyberlink and MePo you need to use AV splitter:
last released version -
Download AV Splitter | AV Splitter
last beta -
forum.avmedia.su •

In tab "Output choose Cyberlink VC-1 mkv" chek this (for *.mkv or all streams)

That is not true, SAF (LAVF) already support VC-1 in MKV.

Did you try to play your file in Graphstudio?

I reinstalled SAF and I got the problem back that opening a file takes ages.

No, no. Please, do exactly as i wrote - installing only FFDshow is not enought. SAF use different settings.

Just for information...

I had installed the SAF 6.0.5 an found that if I use FFDShow for playback of DIVX / XVID encoded material and then skip forward there are huge delays and stutters when doing so. However when using the Lav decoder there is no such problem and all is well with instant skipping and resuming
The playback is fine it was just the skip forward problem with the resuming of playback which was the issue. It is not a network / Realtek issue as linked on the last page.

Can you test seeking in Graphstudio? I didnt notice any troubles on my files.
It is an AVI? Can you try to use MKV Merge to change container from AVI to MKV?

AW: Re: AW: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

ok guys, like i mentioned before I uninstalled ffdshow and have only LAV codec left.
I made a Quick video where u can see how it looks like when quicksync is enabled.

but i just recognized when i now open graph studio it doesnt show lav it shoes MS DTV Codec.

Do I have to merrit? But i chose in Mediaportal LAV Codec...

Reinstall SAF, then apply this patch.
It will correctly setup SAF to use Intel decoder.
Then setup MePo to use FFDshow Video decoder for video files (not TV).

to make it short...
file opening takes ages again - i cant use this.

i installed ffdshow and lav alone and no problems like this appear!

I tried to use DXVA with ffdshow as the cpu usage is still ess then intels quicksync but I get judders in picture - not much and hardly to recognize but it is there.

then i tried quicksync with FFDSHOW and i tget same result like when i use lav with quicksync
i already postet theis but here it is again
Download VIDEO0023.3gp from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

The only thing which works without judders is lav video codec - it runs smooth only thing is that I have much higher cpu usage...
DXVA gives me around 6%
With lav I get around 15-18%

Anyone a clue why the DXVA with ffdshow gives me judders??
