You right but u know how it is, you always want the best solution for a problem:-9
But I didnt know that next LAV version supports DXVA - so I will stick with my config for now and wait for this realase!

Ok, so I have at least gotten somewhere. It seems as though the uninstall of LAV through SAf when LAV was installed through the extension installer has been part of the problem (since the extension installer still thought that LAVF was installed - and they seem to use different paths). After uninstalling the LAVF extension and then reinstalling SAF6.04 I was able to start LAV from MePo (at least through TV-series plugin - still hangs with Live-TV but lets wait with that problem). Now I am able to start a video and video is fine except for no sound. When I check the log it says something about "Hearing impaired" on the audio stream ... can this be the cause of the problem? And what does it mean? The file plays fine in MPC-HC. Any ideas?

How can i configure lav audio to play SACD files (*.wav, *.dts) 6 channels in Mediaportal.

I don’t know of a way to play them in MP, doesn’t seem to be possible at the moment!
I play them in MPC-HC (Bitstreaming) with Lav Splitter -> ReClock.
It’s also possible to play them in MPC-HC (No Bitsreaming) with Lav Splitter -> Lav Audio -> Default DirectSound Device or Reclock.

Is there a way to use LAVF splitter for DVD's with SAF, and have ffdshow for "DVD video decoder" and "post processing"?

If I have ffdshow setup as my "DVD video decoder" in MP, disable MPG2 in ffdshow, my DVD's that have menu issues go away. At the same time I lose the post processing in ffdshow, which I would really like to have.

Note: this is for standard DVD's only.

I do not want to use LAVF as a DVD navigator, I just want to use it as the splitter instead of ffdshow and still use ffdshow post processing.

For DVDs you need to use DVD navigator, not splitter.
And FFDShow doesnot have any splitter, FFDshow only have Audio/Vide decoders.

hi
i have a strange problem with the audio filter which prevents video from being displayed. i think someone already showed similar screenshots before.

but first some system infos

fresh windows 7 64bit + newest drivers.
mediaportal 1.2.2
saf 605
amd 5550hd - hdmi - pioneer av receiver 2011 model

as you can see in the screenshots below, the audio filter is not inserted in case i use die amd hdmi directsound output. also then the video does not play.
if i use the default audio device everything is fine.

before i formatted my pc some days ago everything worked fine in case of sound. perhaps it is a problem in the newer saf versions?

update

in case is use the default direct sound device:

watching a tv channel with ac3 sound ---> fine
switch to a tv channel with mpeg sound only ---> fine
switch back to channel with ac3 sound ( which is prefered) ----> no sound
option 1: switch back to non ac3 channel ---> fine
option 2: switch audio of the channel from ac3 to mpeg --->fine and back to ac3 ---> fine
