Yes, i know, both have separate registry storage. But only FFDshow Audio decoder have its own property page call command, audio processor does not. The page is caled from *.ax file. I will check again home.

Hi hoborg

Did you have a chance to check again yet?
Hi.
Yes, and i have good news for you. It is possible to call it.
You can simply add it by yourself - Start - SAF - FFDshow. Here copy and paste FFDshow audio configuration shortcut, rename it as you like.

Right click on it, propherties. On shortcut, rename "..\ffdshow.ax",configureAudio" to "..\ffdshow.ax",configureAudioRaw".
Done :)
I will add the shortcut to next SAF.

    Hi hoborg and all,

    I use SAF since the v4 but recently I'm experiencing some frustration. I'm no longer able to play mkv files smoothly. Sometimes the playback is stuttering, and at a certain point it hangs completely. This is happening with many files.

    I just updated to SAF 6.1.7 and the problems persist.

    I tried to play these files in GrpahStudioNext, where I see FFDshow DXVA decoder, despite I set LAV Video Decoder in MP configuration. I tried to substitute the filter in GF, but also LAV Video Decoder has problems playng the files.

    I suspect it could be a graphic card drivers problem. I have an ATI HD5450 card, and didn't update the drivers since last February (i had 12.2 catalys drivers). With this version I started experiencing issues, so updated to the latest version (12.10) with no luck, the problems are still there.

    Here is my GF screenshot:

    Immagine1.png

    And also my SAF log file. I don't have any clue on what is going wrong with my system. I have it since 2009.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi.
    So, if you open your file directly in graphstudio - you have the same issue (with FFDshow DXVA decoder) ?
    Is not your GPU overheating (possible reason of hang durning playback) ?
    Do you have your videos on local source or on network?

    BTW, you have some (for me unknown) programs running in backgroud - check them if the didt eat a lot of CPU usage.

    Code:
    "LogitechQuickCamRibbon"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Logitech\\Logitech WebCam Software\\LWS.exe\" /hide"
    "AirPort Base Station Agent"="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\AirPort\\APAgent.exe\""
    "SCRU"="\"D:\\SCRU extractor\\SCRU.exe\""

    Yes I have the same issue with both FFDShow DXVA and LAV.
    I don't think the problem is related with the GPU overheating, I have the problem as soon as I start the PC, and in CCC the temps look good.
    The files are all on a local HDD, while the OS and MP are on an SSD.

    Try to touch the GPU cooler.
    There is no much reason why playback can hang by itself, another reason can be damaged RAM modules or broken video files.

    Hi hoborg, have you thought of a version of SAF with option of audio and video speed up for 23.96 -> 24fps. Not sure if this works with pass through though.

    Hi.
    You can use ReClock for this.
    You can use ReClock AC3 build in encoder to encode audio to AC3 and passthrough it.

    will have to try it, because i think i do notice some stutter with 23.96, as my tv can't display this hz rate. Have you thought about integrating this option into the SAF install though, I'm pretty sure that the majority of users won't have 23.95hz displays. Some of them might even not be able to do 24hz, and would benefit from the speed up option.

    Well, ReClock is audio renderer. Right now, i am not interested to integrate renderers to SAF (ReClock or madVR).
    Just do not use reClock for LiveTV of course.
    MediaPortal have its own audio renderer solution with similar functions as ReClock, but i am not sure if it is already part of MePo 1.2.3 (i am not a MePo user).
