There is no reason to have double audio devices installed, you can even disable integrated Realtek in BIOS if you using only HDMI.

just for the record i did the same but i lost sounds in games ;)
Make sure you setup default audio device in Windows setting.
I used this for years, never had a problem.

Hi.
After some time i changed HW of my HTPC.
Now it is based on Intel i3-3225 (Intel HD 4000 integrated GPU) and Win7 x64 Home premium.
I created two profiles in SAF (only on Vista or newer) - DXVA (default) and Intel QuickSync. Well, acording to my 3 days of testing, it is working really great!
Intel did a great job with HD graphics and Egur wrote excelent decoder to use it.

I need to finish something, do some more tests and i will release new SAF soon. This is will be great release for all Intel HD graphic users :)

I am currently using the unlocked version of SAF v6 and am having playback issues when trying to play H264/AVC files with FFDShow DXVA selected as the H264 codec to use.

Long story short, when I try to play a file Media Portal gives me the error "Unable to play AVC Codec Missing" However the file of course plays in every other player on my HTPC. Then when I go and change the settings in media portal to use the standard FFDShow codec and not the DXVA codec, it plays without any issues.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, whats the best way to resolve it? I did a bit of searching but didint see this specific issue. I know the OP says to use the FFDShow DXVA codec as the H264 one, so I assume I have an incorrect setting somewhere else.

Thanks and I appreciate the help!

If you have Vista or newer OS, wait for next SAF.
I just added Intel QuickSync profile to SAF, it will use Intel HD graphics very effective without any issues.

Okay thanks. Glad to know its not just me. I am running Win 7 Ultimate so I will hold out. Do you have an ETA for the next release?

..... and Egur wrote excelent decoder to use it.
excuse my stupid question, but who is Egur?

Second question: Intel HD4000 can decode perfectly 1080i stream (liveTV HD for example) without any problems?
Why you prefer Intel HD graphics instead of AMD graphics?

    Thanks

    Hi
Egur is author of Intel QuickSync Decoder (used in FFDshow and LAV Video decoder).
And h.264 1080i stream working fine for me (PDVD12 decoder).
And why intel GPU? Well, by using Intel Core i3-3225 CPU, i have enoght power for HTPC, great video decoder and DX 11 GPU (cca same speed as Radeon 6450) in one TDP 55W CPU. Low costs, low TDP, low heating = low noise :)
After few days of usage, i didnt hit any problems yet.

    thanks for your replay.
i'd like to change my HTPC too, and I am very undecided
currently i have a AMD system with HD6450 and all works fine, but if HD4000=HD6450 i can try with Intel ......
