Does SAF6 allow decoding of all-channel Dolby digitial Tru-HD or DTS-HD MA to lossless LPCM to be output over HDMI with a suitable graphics card?

Yes, both should be supported (DTS-HD in unlocked SAF).[DOUBLEPOST=1358868349][/DOUBLEPOST]
hi Hoborg,
is it possible to use lav video decoder with IPTV ?
to replace elecard or coreavc ?
Hi.
I didnt try it, but it should be working in any DirectShow based player.
But i am recomending to use PDVD 12 video decoder from unlocked SAF for Live MPEG-2 and h.264 streams.

Why do you recommend it? I use LAV filter almost from the beginning for live TV and never encountered a problem with it.

Well, call yourself a lucky :)
Acording to my experience, for LiveTV, PDVD have higher broadcast errors tolerance (it is more stable), DXVA1 support (DXVA on WinXP) and it have some kind of internal image postprocessing.
PDVD also support not complete DXVA acceleration on GPUs that does not have it, like MPEG2 on older ATI's with old UVD (< UVD2).

I am experiencing the same problems as mrbert described (artefacts on many MP4 files), but I'm using MP 1.2.3 (Win7 64-Bit, SAF 6.1.9), so it doesn't seem to be a 1.3. issue.

Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

Lets summarize it:

- it only happend with *.MP4 files
- it only happend in MediaPortal - graphstudio and MPC-HC player provided by SAF play it fine

I am suggesting to try:
- Play the file in Graphstudio (START-SAF-Tools-Graphstudio) then Play the file in MePo, pause it, use Graphstudio to connect to remote graph and compare the two graphs if they are the same. They should be if you are using settings from first page of this threat.
- Rename file from *.MP4 to *.MKV and play it in MePo.
- Use MKV merge to change container from MP4 to MKV and try play MKV in MePo. Check if issue is still there.

I am remembering, there was a setting or plugin in mepo that was responsible for problems with MP4 playback. It take it as audio files instead of video ones. But i do not think it can be the source of the problem in this case.

BTW, the MePo LOGs can be usefull too.

Thanks for the quick response, meanwhile I figured out that it affects all h264 videos, no matter what container they are.
I've tried Core AVC and had the same effect, then I've disabled DXVA and the artefacts are gone, but acutally I don't want to go without DXVA support...

    for the record
i see you are on amd..... could it be a driver problem ?

some version give pixelation on certain amd gpu

as you can see there https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/warning-pixelation-corruption-on-h264-channels.82941/

have you tried to downgrade (or update) drivers ?[DOUBLEPOST=1358963076][/DOUBLEPOST]

hoborg i had similar experience as you,
but after i switched to the experimental tsreader version 69 https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/experimental-tsreader-development.102693/

i can use lav also with live tv hd and sd without any issue.

i started to think past issues came from tsreader..........
