Thanks for the very nice package, I do need some advice though.

Is there a short guide on how to setup everything to show subtitles in MP with SAF?
Now when I play a movie I have to go to subtitles and turn them on.

When I install SAF with subtitiles handled by MP I have to turn them on everytime I watch a movie.
When I install SAF with subtitles with the first option it does not work, can't turn them on in MP

Read through most of this topic but can't figure out how to get it up and running.

If you enabled subtitles durning SAF setup - does subtitles show if you open and play your video in Graphstudio?
MePo overide default SAF settings, it handling subtitles by its own logic.

AW: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

Hey!

I just updated from SAF 6.00 to SAF 6.02. I uninstalled 6.00 via the start menu entry and installed the unlocked verson of 6.02 afterwards. Unfortunately the PDVD 11 codec doesnt get installed and I can't see why!?

Any ideas or hints what to look for? I already reinstalled v. 6.02, but that didn't help. The installation window clearly displays *UNLOCKED* (online). I added the log files below.

Thanks!

This might be a stupid question, but what exactly do you mean with "offline unlock"? Doesn't the installer need the internet connection to download the PDVD files?

I'm having trouble with ffdshow and my Realtek control panel.

I want to set it to 5.1 in the control panel with only Center ticked as shown in the attached picture (I've only got three speakers connected at the moment) and then use ffdshow profiles to switch the mixer settings between Mix all to Stereo, Mix all to Stereo except Centre, etc. When I add some rear speakers, I'll want a Mix to 5 speakers profile as well.

The problem is, as soon as I tick Center in the control panel, I lose most of the volume on L&R, like the two channels are cancelling each other out. This seems to be confirmed by the fact that if I set the R->R column to 0, the volume goes back up to normal on the L speaker. I've also tried all the options under Output Speakers Configuration but none helped.

The Centre speaker (amp connected to Blue socket, assigned as Centre/Subwoofer Out) is working OK and if I untick Center in the control panel, this gets added to L&R, boosting the volume but not cancelling it out.

If I tick Rear pair instead of Center (and assign the Blue connector to Rear Speaker Out), set Output Speakers Configuration to 2/0/2 Quadro and direct L->Back L, I can get sound out the Center speaker and the L&R speakers work normally but this isn't going to be any good when I add some rear speakers. This also works with 3/0/2 - 5 channels and sort of with 3/2/2 - 7 channels (but it's a lot quieter) whilst with 3/2/1 - 6 speakers I have to direct L&R to Back C instead to get any sound out the Center speaker, which doesn't make any sense. I note the Volume filter doesn't have a slider for the Back Center channel and when I direct sound to this channel, it's shown in Volume on Back L.

Doveman,

If that amp has Digital SPDIF in, you might concider just passing the bitstream to it for decoding. If the computer is lacking SPDIF, you can get a card for under $15.

I guess some people still do analog sound from the computer when just working with 2 channel stereo, but for digital multi-channel formats (like DD5.1 and DTS) ... the amp will work better (even if the speakers are small for now).
