UPDATE:

Even with all the channels having the right channel numbers the SD plugin still doesn't map them all!

at least they aren't getting mapped to different station ID's, only problem i have now is getting the SD plugin to do its job properly... any advice for getting this thing to work based off of channel numbers only?

The "allow epg channel mapping by channel number only" option doesn't do squat for me.

furthermore when i manually rename my channels and force and update the SD plugin will detect the stationID etc and map it, but on the subsequent update it fails to map the channel!

I have the same problem. can't get the epg to map to the channel correctly... Is there an easy way to get it working?

what lineup are you trying to utilize ?

ATM i haven't come up with a solid way to get it working but about 85% of my channels are mapped correctly with my current lineup.

Yes I know, I saw your thread on dvbn after I answered this one... line ups are the one for videotron regular cable and B**. Videotron was working correctly with MP only, but in tvserver it doesn't work correctly, I had to use the "map using channel number only" to get it to work. So I think it's really a problem with the plugin for TVServer. And I get the same problem with B** and setting the map using channel number only doesn't give me better results...

Maybe the plugin doesn't work properly with the database. I'm on Vista so I had to use MySQL 5...

Those are programs that cannot be matched to a channel.
This will often happen when there are channels in the SD lineup not mapped.

Can you give me your zip(s) and provider(s) and I will see if I can reproduce.

I do not directly connect to the DB so I do not think using MySQL should matter if it is supported by the TVServer.

Can you give me your zip and provider(s) and I will see if I can reproduce.

How exactly are you going to reproduce our lineups? wouldn't you have to have the same service as us..? (or at least the same channels in the db)

I connect to the same sat as the Rebel

I tried a few things today and ended up getting a p*rn channel mapped as VRAK-TV (Kids Channel..) and that's not good if you ask the plugin to rename your channels... If you can check it out I would really appreciate it... Thanks

lol i know what you mean, thats why i never use that option anymore.

I'm going to try manually editing the externalId columns in the channel table, not sure what results may appear but we'll see..

I am having trouble reproducing the errors you are seeing.
I added all 500 some odd channels with epg data, went ok.
Forced an update, it went ok again.
Deleted all the epg mapping, forced an update and all but about 15 remapped correctly and those 15 did not remap at all.

I am still looking but any more help you can give me....

I checked specifically the example given of VRAK-TV and it was OK

what settings + builds are you using?

Edit: here's my channel list and tv.log (maybe this can help you figure out where we're going wrong)

Sidenote: I see the same patterns of channels not being mapped properly in mythtv!
