what settings + builds are you using?

Edit: here's my channel list and tv.log (maybe this can help you figure out where we're going wrong)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/x6s81b (sendspace URL.. attachments seem to be either very slow or unresponsive)

Sidenote: I see the same patterns of channels not being mapped properly in mythtv!

Thanks! I am looking at the log.

I see the example below where E!ONT is getting mapped to CHCH
but the SD lineup online shows that channel 218 is "CHCH (Global - Hamilton)"
so it is technically getting mapped correctly by channel number.

Code:
2008-01-13 22:53:31.281250 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Matched channel CHCH to E!ONT by lineup channel (218)
2008-01-13 22:53:31.281250 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Updated channel E!ONT [id=213 xmlid=10112.218.schedulesdirect.org]

Is there another/different example you can list?
Maybe I am just still confused on the problem?

fyi, pretty much the default settings and recent MP build.
Code:
2008-01-13 14:29:26.395947 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Rename Existing Channels is set to: True, with Template: {number} {callsign}.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.415976 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Add New Digital Channels is set to: True, with External Input: SvhsInput1.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.596235 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Add New Digital Channels Country is set to: United States.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.596235 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Add New Analog Channels is set to: True, with External Input: SvhsInput1.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.606249 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Channel Sorting is set to: False.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.616264 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Allow Channel Matching without Frequency is set to: True.
2008-01-13 14:29:26.626278 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Delete Channels with No EPG Mapping is set to: True.

Currently the only thing i don't understand is why a few channels don't get matched by your plugin, even though the service id's/channel numbers match up perfectly!

here's a few examples (there's more):

2008-01-13 22:54:32.921875 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Could not find a match for WCVBDT/816
2008-01-13 22:54:33.812500 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Could not find a match for KOMODT/821
2008-01-13 22:54:34.687500 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Could not find a match for KINGDT/820
2008-01-13 22:54:35.546875 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Could not find a match for KCTSDT/824

As far as everything else is concerned i'm good. (turns out i was missing some channels and SD is missing some channels)

If you can figure that one out you'll have solved this mystery 100% ( it truly is a mystery for me.. i've spent hours searching for patterns linking these unmatched channels together, so far i've come up short as for an explaination)

What i've done to solve the unmatched channels is simple.. change the displayName column in my database to the correct callsigns (since the service id's/channel numbers seem to be ignored)

Hi,

Just an update.
I think I figured out why they are not getting matched.
Just trying to figure out the best way to fix it.
It is because of the way the plugin treats Digital Terrestrial channels and the "DT" on the end is used as an identifier.

HTH,
patrick

Hi,

I uploaded SchedulesDirectPluginTVE3-v1.1 to the first post it you want to try it.

If I do not hear any complaints I will update the version in the MP downloads.

Thanks,
patrick

Hi there.

Brand new to MP, and I am a DireTV subscriber.

I have a hauppauge 1800, with 2 tuners: 1 for broadcast tv (so I can record some high-def stuff) and another tuner that I have plugged into my DTV STB via a svid cable.

I installed your plugin, subscribed to schedulesdirect, and created a lineup. When I do a channel scan, its only scanning for the broadcast tv.

Could I please get some guidance? Thanks a ton!

Hi,

Man, I gotta start checking the boards more often ;)

Sounds like you are on the right track.

Since you have scanned the broadcast tv, add this lineup @ SD.
Set to allow matching by channel number in the plugin config and Launch MP.
The channels "should" map ok. Allow 20-45 minutes to complete the first time.

Now go back to SD and add the DirectTV lineup also.
In the plugin config, make sure you specify auto-add digital channels
and specify what svhs input. Now launch MP again and it should
download and auto-add the directTV channels for you.
Allow 30-60 minutes to complete the first time.

In a perfect world you should be able to do that in a single step
but with 1000 different setups adding one lineup at a time seems
to be the most reliable.

Just ask if you have any more questions :)

HTH,
patrick

Hi icebreakr,

We'll get it worked out yet ;)

Ok, for starters you may want to export your channels, clear them and then import them back.
Your channel IDs look a little strange, I would expect some of the channel numbers
to match the IDs but after you get up in the 500s it would be unlikely.

The export/clear/import should also help by wiping out any existing epg mapping that might be present causing problems.

I cleared, then re-imported and matched no problems.
My log extract below showing the matching channel number of the first few missed channels from your log.
(Note: I am using Rebels exported channel list to reproduce)

Also, below are the settings I used.

Feel free to attach(zip) your exported channel list and I will see if I can reproduce using it.

Settings:
Code:
Rename Existing Channels is set to: True, with Template: {number} {callsign}.
Add New Digital Channels is set to: True, with External Input: SvhsInput1.
Add New Digital Channels Country is set to: United States.
Add New Analog Channels is set to: True, with External Input: SvhsInput1.
Channel Sorting is set to: True.
Allow Channel Matching without Frequency is set to: True.
Delete Channels with No EPG Mapping is set to: False.
