Hey Patrick, quick question. I'm about to install a PC with mediaportal at my gf's house. she has a completely different cable lineup than I do (FIOS vs Cox). Is there a way to tell the plugin, "download this lineup, but not that one"... or will I have to sign up for a different account at SD (which is fine too, I'm just trying to save a buck ;) )

No sorry.
The way the api works right now you always download the data for all your lineups, you only specify the date/time range.

How do I know if the guide is finished the first update? Also where do I find those log files? I cannot seem to find them anywhere.

With MP stand alone there is a message box in MP when it completes.

If you are using TVE3 there is a link in the program group to the log.

If MP stand alone with WinXP I think they are still in the log folder in the MP install folder
Ex: C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log\epg.log

OK, thank you, I am now updating the epg again. I have task manager open, and watching the processes tvservice and mysqld-nt... waiting for the cpu to go to 0 before I do anything. Thanks again, I'll let you know if everything works out. also I keep opening the log file, it always only has 1 line in it, and it changes. Should it not append to the file, or is this the way it is supposed to be?

Hi, my epg finished updating, I still am missing many channels. I have attached my channel list export xml, and my log file. Also, a lot of channels do not have the right guide information.

Ok I think I may have found something out here is what I have found.

here is a sample of an channel export before I ran schedulesdirect

<channel Name="OXYGN" GrabEpg="False" IdChannel="972" IsRadio="False" IsTv="True" LastGrabTime="2000-1-1 0:0:0" SortOrder="10000" TimesWatched="0" TotalTimeWatched="2000-1-1 0:0:0" VisibleInGuide="True" FreeToAir="False" DisplayName="OXYGN">
- <mappings>
<map IdCard="1" IdChannel="972" IdChannelMap="972" />
</mappings>
- <TuningDetails>
<tune IdChannel="972" IdTuning="972" AudioPid="0" Bandwidth="8" ChannelNumber="972" ChannelType="3" CountryId="31" Diseqc="0" FreeToAir="False" Frequency="12457000" MajorChannel="-1" MinorChannel="-1" Modulation="-1" Name="OXYGN" NetworkId="4100" PcrPid="0" PmtPid="33" Polarisation="2" Provider="" ServiceId="127" SwitchingFrequency="11700000" Symbolrate="20000" TransportId="17" TuningSource="0" VideoPid="0" VideoSource="0" SatIndex="-1" InnerFecRate="6" Band="10" Pilot="-1" RollOff="-1" Url="" Bitrate="0" />
</TuningDetails>
</channel>

Here is the save sample after running schedules direct:

<channel Name="972 AUDLTCL" GrabEpg="False" IdChannel="972" IsRadio="False" IsTv="True" LastGrabTime="2008-4-23 12:39:51" SortOrder="367" TimesWatched="0" TotalTimeWatched="2000-1-1 0:0:0" VisibleInGuide="True" FreeToAir="False" DisplayName="972 AUDLTCL">
- <mappings>
<map IdCard="1" IdChannel="972" IdChannelMap="972" />
</mappings>
- <TuningDetails>
<tune IdChannel="972" IdTuning="972" AudioPid="0" Bandwidth="8" ChannelNumber="972" ChannelType="3" CountryId="31" Diseqc="0" FreeToAir="False" Frequency="12457000" MajorChannel="-1" MinorChannel="-1" Modulation="-1" Name="OXYGN" NetworkId="4100" PcrPid="0" PmtPid="33" Polarisation="2" Provider="" ServiceId="127" SwitchingFrequency="11700000" Symbolrate="20000" TransportId="17" TuningSource="0" VideoPid="0" VideoSource="0" SatIndex="-1" InnerFecRate="6" Band="10" Pilot="-1" RollOff="-1" Url="" Bitrate="0" />
</TuningDetails>
</channel>

Now this channel is actually channel 127 (the tune IdChannel is wrong, the ServiceID is right). Patrick do you have any ideas how I can fix this problem?

I checked your lineup @ SD, as far as I can tell it looks like the plugin correctly
assigned channel 972 to AUDLTCL (ChannelNumber="972")
Channel - XMLid - Call Sign - Name
127 - 21484 - OXYGEN - Oxygen Media Inc.
972 - 27469 - AUDLTCL - Muzak: Light Classical

I just went into media portal, and went to channel 972 - AUDLTCL, when I got into the channel it was the oxygen channel. This is not the only channel that does this,the first 100 channels or so are perfect, but the rest either don't have any info or it's wrong. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I can do?

It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong.
It just seems like what SD thinks is on channel 972 and what is actually being broadcast on that channel are different.
I have not had time to really look over more of your channels to see if it is the same.
You can try filing a trouble ticket @ SD. They do try to fix errors.

What you can do, though it would be a PITA for a lot of channels is rename the channel(s) to the callsign (OXYGEN)
and turn off channel renaming. This should over ride the standard mapping techniques and use the callsign.
I would test it with a few channels first to verify it works.

If you still think the plugin is doing something wrong, just post again, I might have more time this weekend to check it.
