ATSC is the new standard. I use the 1600 w/SD myself and have not noticed this... yet :)

    Hello, Everyone,
Not sure where I should post this, thought it would be best here. I have Media POrtal Installed and using 4 the record. I finally got everyhting setup and working great. THe only thing that I cant get 100% is the guide. It seems that I only get guide data up to Monday Jan 26th at 12:30pm. THis is happending for all channels. I have no idea whats going on. I had it working before but had to reisntall for other reasons. It was this way b4 I installed 4 the record as well. I am sure it is jsut a setting somewhere that I have overloked. I just set it up 2 days ago or so, so initially I got 72 hours worth of data. And I thought the closer it gets to monday 12:30pm it would update and all would be well. But it is getting close so thought I should ask for help. I have set the gudie data in Schedules Direct plugin to download 13 days of data as well.

Any input would be great. Thanx alot! Great product!

    hi,
I've been using this from the day it was created (even before when it still was zap2 it) and it works great.
but now I guess it's about time to move to MP 1.0x , but before I do, would like to know what version I need and if it still will work at all.

    Thanks.

I'm using MP 1.0 with the latest SD plugin (1.1a) and it's working perfect, no issues here!

    installation problems

I have searched for this one some other pages and I cannot find the answer so I wanted to ask. I am sorry if it has been asked/answered before, but this is a long thread and admittedly I did not go through the whole thing. I have however read Patrick's instructions at the beginning several times and they don't make sense for my installation! :( As a result I have been putzing around trying to get SD to work on my mediaportal for over a year now, with little luck! I was hoping someone here can straighten me out.

I currently have MP 1.0 installed (installed without the mysql TV server version) on a windows xp PC.

my problem is that I have downloaded the plugin from here. However when I unzip it, I get a file with two folders - one containing the .dll described in the instructions and a second zipped file (which contains several more files of unknown purpose). I installed the .dll in the plugins folder as directed and nothing! I am not sure if I am installing the correct SD plugin, if I am installing it in the wrong place, if I need to install more of the files included in the original zip (what and where?) or that I am just not configuring it right (the MP config interface has changed slightly with MP1.0 and now the instructions do not match with the interface)

FWIW I have no idea what a TVE2 or 3 is or what an SVN is either as none of these are defined from what I have found, so I am not quite sure if I am using the proper file to start with. I am sure however that I have an SD account and that it is functional. Oh yeah, I am in Canada too! >.<

I don't mean to whine here, I love Mediaportal, and I am grateful for people like Patrick who take the time to set up plugins like this. I am obviously am too hopeless to actually get this working myself! :)

    Please help!

thanks for your speedy reply. Unfortunately I do not have the TV server version of MP installed so the file "C:\program files\team mediaportal\tvserver\plugins folder" cited in the link you provided does not exist on my computer.

    any other suggestions?

I believe that you need this version of the plug-in if you are using TVE2 MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - SchedulesDirect US/CA/ME EPG Plugin for TVE2
It should still work with MP 1.0 (I think), but I would honestly recommend installing MP with TV server, unless you have some exceptional reason not to. The installer does all the database set-up for you.

I haven't used the other method. Like you said, I let MP do everything with the TV server and it's working great.

hmmm, I guess the main reason why I didnt install the server version was it was necessary to have a version of MySQL as well or something like that IIRC. When I searched for recommended versions of MYSQL, they all required $$ so I opted to stick with the simpler non-TV server version. I am probably wrong with many parts of this story, as I have not "attempted" to install the server version in close to a year. Is the server version worth the effort? Would I lose any features from the current version of MP that I have? If that could solve my EPG problem with little effort then I am all for it - and by little effort I mean I am willing to do what it takes to get the EPG working, I just want to do the simplest way! ;)
