... I'd like to see some enhancement to the SD plugin... like being able to separate the description details a bit more, to rename the episodes more clearly.. like program-title-season#-episode#, for use in MPTV Series, and add a separate label to the skin for New/First aired info for broadcasts/episodes. eg, Some of the control that some xmlTV users can do.

Are you aware that you can use MC2XML to pull SD listings and import it with the XMLTV plugin?
This would give you the XMLTV features. This SD plugin works great for a simple easy set up.
However the XMLTV plugin gives you a lot more bells and whistles if you don't mind a little extra tweaking.

Yes. I had tried that route but didn't like it, I like to avoid as much 'tweaking' as possible. I also didn't like the asterisk display for new shows, preferring more the way the SD plugin does it. If XMLTV could display the word 'new' or some other graphic icon for new episodes, then I might press myself to use it.

it would be nice if MC2XML and XMLTV could be more integrated, and be able to set dnld times via the config rather than setting up a scheduled event via the batch file and OS.

Until which time, the SD plugin will do it for me. I'm all for conforming software to the needs of the the user rather than the other way around.

Thanks for all the help this is a great place. Installed 1.01 and SD is working. Now the only problem I have is won't play back recorded tv due to sound codec. I should be able to fix it. thanks again for the info.

I am having some problems with this plugin. I get the error "unable to process channels, have you done an autotune?" I went to tv server config and hit scan for tv channels. Is this the same as autotune? I am guessing that when this was first written, options were different for mediaportal.

Any help is appreciated.

I am now following your directions but have hit another bump. When I go to manual control to turn off the tv service, the whole configuration program freezes...Any idea?

All I did was install 1.01 and put the SD plugin in. It took a shut down and restart for it to update info. I didn't see anything happening, and my drive was spinning so I mistakenly shut it down. Took about 20 minutes then started MP and all channel info was there.

Well it turns out it is working now. Although media portal tv server config was freezing up, when I turned on mediaportal itself the guide was there.

One question though, is there a way to get a picture for every station? Maybe my guide isn't fully downloaded?

Make sure you put it in the tv server plugins folder, not the media portal plugins folder. does that help?
