    Clint,

curious about the 4 digit channel number comment since I use 4 digit channel numbers with MePo. I don't use SD and set my channels by hand using the same MCE convention, 4-1 = 1041, etc. This shows in the EPG and I can use 4 digits with my remote to change channels. Did you enable 4 digits? See the following wiki.

In the SF bay area this works for most channels except for KAXT that has 20 ATSC sub-channels if you include all the "radio channels".

@RonD, you are correct. Thanks for the pointer. I will issue another update. Do you know what Microsoft Media Center does with KAXT channels? The way I have it setup right now, 12-34 would end up as 2234, 56-7 => 1567. The formula I'm using is: 1000 + Integer("12"+"34")

    Thanks again,
    Clint

    Clint,

One more comment, I use OTA (not QAM cable) and normally KAXT is a "don't care" channel that I don't use or configure, but in the name of science I added it to WMC to see how it works. By default it only adds the 1st sub-channel 1-1, I can manually add 1-2 to 1-9, but it will not add anything for 1-10 to 1-16. WMC lets you manually configure the guide for 1-1 to 1-16 but does not download any listings for KAXT 1-1 to 1-9.

MePo lets me configure in all the KAXT subchannels, but the mc2xml/xmltv generated tvguide.xml does not import any listings for the 4 KAXT subchannels I tested.

@RonD, thanks for checking that out. Aside: I'm in Canada and WMC doesn't support OTA here for some very strange reason. There are hacks to get it to work but you have to map OTA to Cable channels to for guide info.

    Thanks again,
    Clint

I have been working / testing the scannel scans for Digital Cable TV with @RonD and @mmm1352000, With a few changes to correct some issues https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/1-3-0-final-and-digital-channel-scans.117821/page-6 I moved over to see how SD would handle the new channel info.

I started out with a fresh scan for channels and found 361.
I updated to the new version of SD, turned it on and restarted the service.

First, SD did find a lot of information
SD seems to have duplicated the channels.. I now have 683 channels listed
SD also has all the channels marked as Not Mapped to a card and I cannot figure out how to map them.

I am including the complete logs from both the channel scan and SD discovery. Along with them is a file with Screenshots of what I am seeing.

Is my configuration correct? Did I do something wrong or configure something wrong?
    Thanks...

I think what happens (please correct me if I'm wrong) is the SD plugin will look for scanned ATSC channels and update them. If it added all the possible ATSC channels it would probably add some you don't get. For cable channels, it creates it's own channels. You don't need (shouldn't) scan for them.

    What I would suggest:
    - Delete all your channels (backup your schedules if that is important - existing schedules will be deleted)
    - Scan your ATSC channels
    - Force schedules direct to do a full update. (settings on the second tab in the TvServer configuration plugin settings?)
    - Once it has found the channels, map the channels by going to TV Server Configuration > TV Channels > TV Mapping, select the card your using for cable TV, select all the channels, and click the >> to map all the channels.

Going mostly from memory here as I'm at work. I haven't really played with all the settings there could be other ways to set it up but this is how I've been using it. Hope that helps.

I noticed in the other thread, you were getting channel numbers 10000 for a lot of channels. This was a bug in the plugin. You might want to make sure you have the latest version of the plugin. (stop TVService service, run mediaportal extensions installer, update SD plugin, start TVService).

I'm hoping to rewrite this plugin to make it easier in the future (automatic mapping and merging) but that is a ways off.

    - Once it has found the channels, map the channels by going to TV Server Configuration > TV Channels > TV Mapping, select the card your using for cable TV, select all the channels, and click the >> to map all the channels.

    All else was done.
The channels listed as not mapped to a channel do not show up in either
Channels Available or Channels mapped to a card.
Like I said, I cannot get them to map to a card....

Looking at your logs, looks like you're tuning QAM. I have no experience with that. I'm using an HDPVR to get my cable tv into mediaportal. Hopefully someone else can help you out.

    It should work right away.

The steps I have used in the past are:

    1.) scan channels
2.) rename all the channels so that they match the callsigns in Schedules Direct exactly
3.) setup your account in the MP plugin
4.) check the box that says to re-map the channels on the next tvserver restart.
5.) close config and go to services.msc and restart the TV service.
6.) wait a couple minutes and then when you start MP, EGP should be there.

If it is still not working for you, then you might want to try attaching the log files.
