I got the streaming working over wan, but only for 30secs at a time, probably the heartbeatproblem referred to before in this thread.
Is this beeing looked at?

Update: Installed latest VLC-Version on both Server and Client and now its working like a charm!

Got another issue though. Loading the guide from weblogin takes up to a minute. That can´t be right?

New Version 0.6.0.7 beta

Fixes
  • Some more stability fixes for managing VLC instances
  • Stopped IE from clicking when time/position is refreshed in streaming window - now using XMLHttpRequest object.

I noticed one time that I had to refresh the streaming window when it would not load in IE. It may have something to do with the XMLHttpRequest stuff, but I don't know enough about it...

Kev.

For Ajax functionalities I strongly recommend using Prototype. It's very easy to use and very powerful. And more importantly, it will ensure cross browser capable Ajax.

By using this you could dynamically load program details (the 'mouseover' display) 'onEvent' and drastically improve loading times. If you're not using it already.... give Prototype a try. You'll be full of joy for a week :p

Tested again a bit with the latest version.
Streaming localhost works smoothly. Changing channels takes about 5sec. No problems using FF3. Even fullscreen TV works nicly.

But streaming via local network doesn't work. Not with FF3 nor IE6. Sounds wired.
Is it possible that there is an error in the VLC config which will be bypassed while streaming to localhost?

Using FF3 I get the C library error which cant be loaded as stated before. On IE6 I cant click on the streaming button in showguide view. Nor in TV server view.
The streaming button is "unclickable".
rgds,

Edit:
And sometimes I do get an error 500 while starting streaming:
Code:
The Web Server has encountered the following error:

[AnyDAC][Phys][ODBC][Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Connection is busy with results for another command

Greetings Kev and all other users,

I have a problem that annoys me :p

The only way I can get the webinterface to work smooth is if I use the horisontal display mode. When I am using vertical /default mode it takes forever to load the guide webpage IF it loads at all. But when I use the horizontal mode it work very fast.

Anyone have an idea what may be wrong?

Best Regards!

Hi,
I have a small strange Problem.
My English is very bad. I build a picture mystery. ;)

1. I look for the word "Garten":

2. I would like record "Querbeet durchs... " each Monday 19:00 of Bayerisches FS Nord.

3. However both series "Querbeet durchs ...." are marked. The Second marked (Di 11:45) is a repetition and not intended.

4. In the Guide later only one series is marked.

However the correct series is recorded.
> Thus only a small bug ?? ;)

No one have a clue howcome I can't use the default settings without having the webpage taking minutes to show or not showing at all? As soon I use horizontal view it works very fast (however that view is not as nice as the default/vertical view)

Sincerely!

Adding and tracking feature request via forum is not the best idea in my opinion.
Isn't it possible to use the wiki which can be edited?
We will have a single point of presence where to add feature requests/bugs. And Big_Kev can put it on the done/ignore/accepted list.
    Just my two cents.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you...

I am looking into it now.

Can I arange by MP to get a copy of your database so I can do some benchmarking to increase the efficiency of the queries?

Did you install VLC and do the "work around" with the dll files on the client computers?

This sounds like a much better way to do things... I just don't have any experience with this and dont know where to start.

    Any advice gratefully received.
