Is there an SVN ver available with the fix built in? I'm barely using my HTPC because most of my movies are multi part and since I updated to MP RC versions from 0.2.3, they haven't worked.

I had the same issue and there is a temp workaround. Just rename your multipart movies to moivename-cd1 and moviename-cd2 and then add only the first part to the database. Then MP will automatically pickup the second part when you go to play it.

If you read earlier in this thread, you will see that there are some people who use an Updater (AMCUpdater) that scans the database then folders for new / changed files. If 'movie-cd2' is not added to the database, it will be detected as a new file and added to the database as such.

By the way, I use a workaround for this for anyone interested - it involves using 2 fields in the database for the source files. One will contain all part files with the ';' between as usual. This is the field that AMCUpdater uses. Then a script I developed can be run to duplicate the file entry before the first ';' only to another field. This field is then specified in the config for My Films as the source for launching files. Read about it in this thread.

Hopefully that will all be irrelevant shortly when zebons releases his new version of My Films ;)

    Waiting on the multipart fix.

Multipart bug fixed. new version comming soon....

Has this been released yet? I've just installed MP1 with the lastest myFilms and I cant play multipart films.. didnt see any other version available so guess this is still as yet pending?? (strange because my old 0.2.3.0 install never had this problem..)

    Thanks

This may be a bit late, but there is an alternative way to get around this. I don't know if it's any better than jacc1234's technique, but it may work for some people.

AMCUpdater supports an 'excluded movies' file, so if you manually correct your database to only list the first file in the series (and ensure the filenames are auto-detected by MyFilms, such as ...CD1, ...CD2 etc.) you can stop the remaining files from being imported. You can manually create the Excluded Movies file or run the AMCUpdater, scan for updates, and then select 'Ever Ignore' when prompted for Internet lookup on each file. That file will then not be imported again. If you want to create it manually, it's just a plain text file listing the filenames to ignore, and must be specified in the AMCUpdater interface or config files so the program knows to use it.

Important Note : Please ensure you exclude ALL parts of your multi-part files from processing; otherwise the database entry will be updated to only include the first file of the series!

But again, this will become irrelevant as soon as the new version of MyFilms is ready :)

    Cheers,

    Orion.

p.s. The latest beta version of AMCUpdater has an additional GUI based way to exclude files from processing on the Scan Filters tab. Beta downloads aren't generally full packaged versions but you can get it in this thread

I also have problem with mulitparts...
It's right that mediaportal automagiclly detects cd1->cd2 files but I also have txt files in that folder (subtitles) and MyFilms detects them as 3rd and 4th part of film:/ It crashes when its trying to play txt files:/
Semicolons ";" in source of at files aren't working either...
    How to fix it??

Do you mind my asking why you need to add subtitle files to the same field as your video files in your AMC Catalog?
