First of all thanks very much to everybody who has contributed to this thread and especially DJBlue for efforts and all the hard world.
I'm new to HTPC world but I believe there's first time for everything in life (lol).
I'm using 1.1.0.0 RC5 and did pasted TSWrtier_LatestSVN files (after required editing) into the TV Server folder.
I've selected EPG Background Audio and FREEVIEW INFO channels in DVB Radio EPG and it seems to work fine for now as it appears to be updating the EPG at present and I believe it may take some time to do so. However, the channel numbers are not according to what I used to have on sky set-top box.
After reading the posts, I found that Jay_UK had a similar problem and solved it. His channels started from 1734 and mine starts from 1141. Could anyone please be kind enough to offer me some advice.
Thanks very much.

I take it you mean the Freesat EPG? If so, goto KingOfSat and do a channel search for Freesat (top right). That will return the details for the "Freesat Info" EPG stream. Freeview is DVB-t and the full DVB-t EPG is transmitted on all MUXes. So, you could pick any DVB-t channel for DVB-t EPG grabbing.

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick update where i'm up to. I have a working EPG grabber with MP compliant code, just a couple of problems to iron out (small memory leak and the occasional gap in the epg). I also have series link very nearly finished. Series link unfortunately needs quite a lot of changes to MP (including extra fields in the database). I will have to package everything in an installer for it to be deployed.

Freesat series link should now be very easy to add as well. I'll do this as soon as Sky is working properly. Does anyone have any information where the freesat series ids are located in the stream? (never looked at this)

If anyone would like to help out with testing, please let me know. I'm hoping to have a beta release after this weekend.

    Hi there,

Romaelz - The latest release of this code for RC4/RC5 does not support automatic assignment of sky channel numbers (previous versions did, but DJBlu has removed this functionality)

    Miroslav22 - I'm happy to test where I can :)

The code is with developers m8,

It will be in SVN for 1.1.0

Is it just Sky EPG in SVN or the whole lot?

Forgive me for being a muppet, but what exactly does "series link" do? Is it just a quick way of setting up recording schedules for every part of a series? (so it's pretty much the same thing as "record every time on this channel")

It seems to be the holy grail for a lot of people so I'm starting to wonder if I should be wanting it too - although I'm perfectly happy with the current freesat epg grabber included in the normal MP release. Is it more of a useful thing for Sky subscribers?

Hi, yes it similar to "Record every time on this channel", but:

"Record every time..." is quite basic - it only looks at the title of a programme. If a programme in a series contains a different title, the schedule wont pick it up.

For example: The X-Factor. The main show and the result show are part of the same series and "series link" will pick this up. However because the title is different (eg "The X Factor" and "The X Factor Results Show"), "Record every time.." will not work unless you set up 2 seperate schedules. (I suppose not a big deal really). For something like the world cup games, this schedule wouldnt work at all because each match has a different title. Series link will work for this.

Also if you had set a "Record every time..." schedule for say"24" or "Lost" on Sky1 HD, the shows were repeated on a monday/tuesday/thursday night in the early hours, so the schedule would record the same episode three times every week (again not a big deal really, was helpful actually if an episode didnt record properly). Series link will only record the actual proper airing (as the actual airing and repeated airings are seperate series ids)

Its just a "Nice to have" really. Im also implementing a "Quick record" menu like the sky epg has. - You basically highlight a programme, press record and a small menu appears with "Record once or "Record series". Much better than going through the programme information screen in my opinion. I suppose its just a matter of preference
