I have now got the SDT Scanner to pick up all 660 channels in under 5 seconds, all from 1 transponder. Added to TSWriter

Now the dificult part. PAT lookup. Still working on this

This is possible, just going to take me a little longer than anticipated.

I will attempt, I say attempt to implement All Channels,Entertainment, etc .... Added to TSWriter

If all goes well today I will upload some test files this evening.

I have added the code that will pick up all the Box Office channels too.

You will also be pleased to know that I can implement the Channel LCN's too i.e. 101,102,103,104

Hi all hope you can help a relative newbie with an epg grabber issue.

I have a compro videomate s350 DVB-S card installed in my pc and had been using the original softarwe which works fine in some respects but doesnt collect epg data.

So i found MP and recently (in the last week or so) downloaded and installed is usting the 'one touch' method. i then downloaded 'sky & freesat EPG within tv server' and followed the isntructions.

now i am not seeing any epg data in MP and when i hit the refresh EPG button in the manual tab of the TV server config, i get a dialogue box saying its going to start then nothing happens or at least nothing obvious.

I thought there might be a new file created/updated in this folder C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server. i was expecting to see a new tswriter file but nada, nothing. I can see britshorts as a channel in case anyone asks.

Anything obvious i should check if not is there any info that would be useful to post ?

Secondly i noticed that in the insturctions for the epg grabber that it mentions 28.2e and 13.0e, now i think im using astra and eurobird on 28.5e as im seeing and using the freesat broadcasts for the uk. Do i need to ask MP to re-scan for 28.2 as well? i had presumed that since i was seeing Britshort that i didnt need to.

Make sure you have de-selected grab epg for selected channels only.

now i have done somethng else, bu**er!!!

1St i had unselected grap epg for selected channels only.

Now i have deleted all the channels and presume ineed to rescan, anyone know where the rescan button is or do i have to go back to square one and re-insatll.

jeeze why did i push that button to clear the channels DOH

You need to open the TVServer config -> +TV Server -> +TheNameOfPC -> select the card(s)
You should be able to work it from there

thanks for that i found it at last i uninstalled and re-installed tv server config and then went through the instructions which i hadnt saved. Thanks


its now re-scanning.

Now i need to see if i can get the epg working, i thought astra and eurobird for freesat were on 28.5 but according to the MP tv server software its on 28.2e which is what is mentioned in the epg software.

It's definitely at 28.2e
Which version of MP is it?
The EPG needs a new TSWriter.ax file, there is a patched version on the first page of this thread...
You then select Brit Shorts in the EPG grabber and Background Audio in the Radio channels EPG grabber.
then under manual control your 'should' be able to grab the EPG...

thanks its the latest version of mediaportal 1.0.2

i did download and 'install' the latest tswriter file as per the instructions at the front of this thread but given i had a problem and have ended up re-istalling and scanning,

please save your efforts, ill try to set it up again once i have competed the scane and then report back i appreciate yours and others help but dont want to waste anyones time in case its something i did with the setup.

i did scan a few minutes ago, twice, and Brit shorts didnt appear, any idea if its one of those stations that stops broadcasting at a certain time?

this might explain why i didnt see any action earlier before i started fiddling with the config?

It's a 24/7 thing I think...
That's the channel carrying the EPG data so it's going to be there all the time...
My HTPC isn't available ATM so I can't give you the details to manually add it - hopefully someone can
