Where you using MediaPortal build SVN24669 ? I tried the Tswriter with the SVN builds after SVN24669 but it didn't work for me. I do have some issues when I do a manual update via the tvservice configuration menu, the tvserver config menu locks up due to a ram and cpu spike but if I leave it for 10 minutes or so all returns to normal with epg updated fine.

It works via the tvservice menu if I start the update process and immediately close the tvservice config menu. I've set the EPG timeout to 15 minutes and the refresh to every 3600 minutes , general l evoke the refresh every 24-48 hours by the method I described but it works fine in the background should I forget.

It might help is you post your system specs and log files if the problem continues.

Also I am using ITV HD channel 10510 for freesat epg update.

Bit of exciting news.

Well it is for me,

I have managed to get the TS Writer to scan the transponder for all the channels, however ..... I need to add a NIT lookup so I can add the transponder info. When this is added you can scan 1 transponder and get all 800 channels. Takes about 30 seconds.

I can't say when I will release the next version as I haven't started the NIT stuff yet. Just keep a look out on the forum and I'll post it when I finish it.

I will move onto the Series stuff after that, then I'll probably add the Box Office epg stuff, not that its important.

30 seconds to get the full TV Lineup with groups, damn I'm good to you lot!

Hi Guys,

I don't know if anybody can help, but I have recently installed a dual tuner DVB-S/S2 card and I can't seem to find "Britshorts" or "Freesat info"; I have all sorts of other channels though. Is it possible that it is under another name??

Does anybody have the tuning parameters so I can manually add it?

It doesn't have to be britshorts for the freesat, Just pick any channel ( TV or Radio) on the same transponder ( a FTA Channel makes life easier and less prone to issues). Same Goes for Sky Uk and Sky Italia.

There is an actual EPG data Channel on those transponders, MediaPortal doesn't actually store it on the Channel Scan. Fortunately the TSwriter looks for the EPG data on the transponder automatically, thus you only need to select any channel on the same transponder.
