Hi

I think that Freeast Info (and EPG Background Channel if you are using the BSkyB EPG) are in Radio Channels rather than TV.

It won't be for a while.
There is a feature freeze on 1.1.0

Does that mean your TSwriter is part of the 1.10 RC, do we need to install it manually still?

Surely the feature freeze doesn't stop you from posting a new TSwriter here like you normally do if you do just happen to Finnish a new version early.

The feature freeze has been on for ages now meaning I can't add any new features which Sky EPG is. The reason Freesat EPG is in the TV Server is because I added it before the cut off date.

I will in time add the feature to the SVN but I can't at the minute. Any new features I introduce will have to be put into this thread and updated as and when.

This will give me time to get the code into the MediaPortal standard.

DJblu,

What you have achieved here is not far short of revolutionary,
So few people understand the DVB-specs and NIT,EPG, technologies outside proprietory consumer electronics company employees, that the type of functionality you are able to add, may have NEVER appeared here for the community and supporters of media portal.

The organic nature of this kind of code development, is allways a boom and bust aproach, with breakthroughs and periods of constant development and testing that lead to more questions than they solve rarely being balanced.
You will always find the people like us on these forums are unlikely to appreciate or sometimes even be aware of all the trials and tribulations you may have had to explore to deliver the next knock out feature, and therefore the code will grow in fits and spurts and may understandably be less readable than a simple project written comercially to a known spec......

We really appreciate all you do and your developments along with the DVB logic team ( Networked tuners for windows mediacenter users ) are some of the most impressive projects for Open minded audio and Video lovers here in the UK and europe.

In terms of the code's integration in MP 1.1RC1 we can understand the feature freeze limiting your commiting the code to svn , but can I ask if the TSwriter that you provide is forked from the very latest TSwriter provided in 1.1rc1 or was it developed in parallell from an earlier version ?

I ask as I believe there have been a number of changes in the TSwriter recently that were first released with the feb 6th SVN and I beleive that your releases include all the other changes but wanted to confirm.

All the best and Thanks for all the work you have acheived.
I know many of us are continuously looking forward to your new developments ! :D

Everytime the TSWriter is updated by the team I integrate the Sky code into it and publish it on here, so you will have the updated fixes and the like plus the extra's I throw in.

I haven't been able to look at the RC1 code this weekend so I will on Monday.

    Hi there,

    Couple of quick questions...

    1) What region would Derby come under? I am struggling to find the best region (I normally get BBC East Midlands)
    2) Is there any way of dropping the extra channel names automatically (eg ITV Yorkshire becomes just ITV)? (At present none of my logos match - and its a pain to either edit each channel, or rename each logo)

    Thanks,

    J.

Use this page. Select a region and if your usual channels show then thats your region.

DJBlu this is some really great work you have done. I'm now getting a healthy coverage of the freesat EPG.

Just for the sake of completion there are still a bunch of channels that aren't showing any EPG data, is this correct?

The main ones I've noticed are:

    True Ent
    CBS Reality +1
    Movies4Men +1
    Movies4Men2 +1
    PopGirl +1

Are these classed as non-freesat channels?

Which leads me onto 2 other questions,
    1) is there a way to generate +1 EPG since we already have the EPG data from the regular freesat channel?
    2) what is the best way to get EPG for the remaining channels without it wiping off all the freesat EPG? I tried using the XMLTV plugin to add a few channels, and unchecked the delete old program data before import option, but it still wiped everything clean.

Do a channel search on the following Transponder.

    11778000 Khz

    Vertical

    27500 Symbol Rate

This will give you the EPG Background audio for Sky. Then go into the Radio EPG and select "EPG Background Audio". It will give you the data for these channels.

I just read above that the SKY EPG is not included in the MP 1.1.0 RC? Is there any point me trying what you suggested about getting a complete EPG until you release a new patch? Thanks for all your hard work once again :).
