Some curiosities...

First:
What's the meaning of the "Timeout" parameter in the "TVServer Configs > General Settings > EPG" section?

Second:
I added by hand two satellite channels (setting up the frequencies parameters by hand); the channels work good but there's an issue: while the EPG of all the other channels covers more or less one week, the EPG of the new channels covers only a few hours at a time.

The timeout parameter is the epg grabber timeout, that is when the grabber is started it waits for epg data for this amount of seconds and if nothing is received it aborts. Normally there is no need to change it.

As for the second question you have to be sure that the networkid parameter is correct for this channels cause guide mappings is driven by this parameter. Just courious: why manually ad channels? You can scan the single transponder if you need without making a complete rescan.

Interesting. I was wandering if it was possible to do something like this... but the only settings concerning the transponder I found are under the "DiSEqC Motor" tab and I've not a motorized parable.

First an error, the parameter timeout is expressed in minutes, not seconds. I think you will have no problems by setting it to 30 minutes but if you get stuck on a channel that gives no data there will be a delay of 30 minutes before the epg grabber will try the next channel.

If you want to scan only a transponder you have to edit ini files in the directory of tv server. You will find a file called for instance hotbird-13e.ini (or similar, I can not check now). Backup this file and delete all the transponders except one and then make a normal scan.

You can disable it because it can cause problems. Anyway you have to have two tuners to use this function or watch the alice channel for minutes waiting for updates .

If a channel still exist with the same name and on the same transponder the channel info are updated (no double entry is created).

I installed the las SVN (22162) and the grabbing stopped working.
I verified that the "Alice" channel was flagged and I pressed again the "Refresh EPG" button... I see the state of my sat board change into "Grabbing EPG". I waited all night long but this morning every channel went "No information" under EPG guide.

Is this a issue caused by the last SVN?

Make sure you copy the modified TSWriter accross, as the SVN will overwrite it.

Hi all me again.

I am closer to completing the Series Link, but still far away. I am getting maxed at work so haven't had time to look at it.

However.

If I do introduce this mod would you like me to include the feature of showing the groups when you enter the EPG page? I think that this would be a great addition, to press the guide and get your groups first.

I am also working on getting the Sky Numbers to correspond to the channel numbers in MediaPortal too.

Let me know of anything you miss(not the red button) from your sky box's and I'll try to implement it if I can.

Yes please, for me, this will give as close to the Sky epg setup (music, film, entertainment etc) as we can get with this version of MP. Keep up the good worrk mate.
