Hi,

I've got all the channels now & configured as specified but I don't seem to ever get any EPG data - I have both the radio "EPG background..." selected and TV "Brit Shorts" but get nothing. Any tips would be appreciated. I've attached my logs in case anyone knows what to do with them!

Doesn't look like you have the modified TSWriter in there.

Silly me - I've had to reinstall TV server several times because of the manual control page disappearing bug & forgotten - will try again, sorry.

What about radio EPG? In Italy Sky provides also radio channels

It is the same as the UK they don't broadcast the EPG for radio channels. If they did it would appear on your guide.

Anyone have any ideas why my EPG listings that are grabbed this way seem to be lost after a day or so? I am guessing the EPG grabbing fails, and that wipes the current listings. It'd be cool if the EPG grabber would only update the current EPG if it had new listings to add, not just wipe em all.

Maybe this is a setting I have turned on somewhere in TVserver that I should turn off. Any suggestions what I should do? I can provide logs if it helps.

Are you refreshing the EPG manually or letting it grab automatically?

If you are refreshing then it deletes all the information. If automatic then it will not delete the old information.

Are you using any XMLTV plugins, this might erase info too.

I was letting it grab automatically, but after using mediaportal I found the guide empty, so I would then try to refresh manually. However, last time I tried a manual refresh I noticed that nothing happened. Tvserver configuration popped up a message saying that the EPG grabber was being restarted, but then the Manual control page showed nothign happening (when usually it would show that the EPGgrab user was working). I tried to full restart to see if that would help, but no luck. I will read through the logs to see if that has any info....

I wasn't using the XMLTV plugin at all, but I am now using it as an alternative until I can work out what is clearing out the guide

Can you ensure you have got the modified TSWriter in your TVServer directory and upload the following log files
TSWriter.log
EPG.log
TV.log

OK, no need, as usual it was a PEBKAC.

After reading the EPG.log, which said EPG not started I thought, hmm, I must have selected somethign that was turning off EPG grabbing alltogether.

It turns out I had turned off the Enable EPG Grabbing whilst idle option. The reason I did this was it seemed to be constantly waking the box up to grab EPG data, even though I had it set to referesh every 1440 minutes.

Oh well, I can worry about that one later, sorry for wasting your time.
