    Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion I may not have understood completely. But I don't see how not combining the channels would help. I have two DVB-T tuners and only one DVB-S tuner. If I don't combine the channels then I don't see how I would be able to record multiple programs at the same time without manually choosing which tuner to use. Also by combining the channels I in effect get series link data for the DVB-T cards... Also the program listing would be pretty messy with two entries for most channels...

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi Andy ,

My recommendation is based on what I have done for a friend in the UK who's HTPC I built and software I set up. He wanted HD channels and because no DVB-T2 tuners where available for the PC at the time(which I think is still the case) I installed a dual DVB-S2 tuner card and also dual DVB-T card for the SD freeview channels that are not on freesat. The DVB-S2 is future proof should ITV1-HD and BBC-HD switch to DVB-S2.

In his set-up the only DVB-T channels tuned in are the channels that are not on freesat or free to air on Sky. From what I can recall it was Dave, Dave-Ja-Vu, Five USA , Sky3 and Viva. All the other DVB-T channels where removed completely from the channel listing so the DVB-T EPG pull only adds the data for these 5 or six channels. The DVB-S Sky EPG data updates everything else so there are no conflicts caused by the EPG updating and he has the ability to watch and record multiple channels too along with series link albeit not on the 5 or 6 freeview channels.

However my friends set-up differs from yours in a major way, you're using your DVB-T tuners as your main tuners and you only have one DVB-S tuner. If you where to follow my suggestion having only one DVB-S card does limits the PVR functionality of your HTPC which wouldn't be a good idea.

Not sure what else you could do. I think you have already done this but from the TV Server menu you could try and update the TV tuner priority so that one of the DVB-T tuner is listed at the top of the tuner list above the DVB-S tuner and disable EPG grabbing on the second DVB-T card. Also make sure the "EPG grabbing while timeshifting/recording" box is not ticked. By doing this when a EPG data pull happens the first set of EPG data pulled will be DVB-T, then the DVB-S card with lower priority will preform it's data pull and overwrite the DVB-T EPG.

    Hi,
Ah yes I can see how if you had multiple DVB-S devices this would be a good way to go. Unfortunately as you say it will not be ideal for me! As you suggested I already have my DVB-S card set as the second one to be grabbed. This means that most of the time things work ok, it is just that from time to time the grab gets stopped after the DVB-T and before the DVB-S grab leaving things in the no series link data state...

As another user mentioned above some way of restricting which programs get updated by which epg grab would be good.

    All the best

    Andy

    Hi Guys,
I setup MP 4 days ago and I'm amazed how good it is now when I tried it few years ago :)
I live in Australia and it seems Australian sat. EPG is not working.

I did try DJBlu filter and it gives me 7 days EPG but it is just random numbers/letters/signs. Is there any chance that EPG developers can have a look into it? I can provide any details required.

It would be wonderfull if we "downunder" can enjoy the full benefit of using MP.

    Thanks

Guys, I dont know if I'm trying to do something that just can't be done or I just don't understand what I'm doing. One way or the other I nedd a little help.

New install of windows 7 32 bit Ultimate.
    Mediaportal 1.1.1 svn 26462 applied.
    Hauppage pvr 350
    Hauppage Win Nova S2
USBUIRT using TV3 Blaster plugin (IR Server Suite)

I reinstalled windows a week ago to try and get guide data (has been using xmltv for years) I've not had sky guide data since. I tried a full cleanup and reinstall last night.

I have mapped all analogue and DVB channels and they all work ok however I'm not getting ang sky epg data. Freesat EPG is fine. I could swear at one point last nightt while the guide was still filling I saw unknown channels with sky sata. Also Bravo 1 had data but does not this morning. From the logs it looks like sky data is being downloaded.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I worked out what I was missing.

I had to go into the channel mapping dialogue on tvserver config and doubleclick on each of the channels on my Nova s2 (red scrambled channes)lthat corresponded to the analogue channels that didn't have any guide data (sky channels). This double click set the channels to epg only.
I then set the same channels up with tv combinations matching my analogue channels.

So in TV Mappings on my Nova sky one is selected as epg only even although it is red and scrambled.
In TV Combinations Sky One on my PVR 350 and on my S2 are linked.
In the guide I only have one sky one with all guide data wich is linked to my analogue card.

At last happieness, Many thanks for all the great contribuitions.

Firstly - thanks to all for the hard work and development on this. I have the EPG working, and was able to setup a season pass, however season passes did not show up in my scheduled recordings list at all, even though they were highlighted in the guide?

Also, any update on when the auto channel sync/additions/removals/channel numbers feature may be ready... not expecting a date here guys, but are we looking at weeks/months/2011?

    Cheers

Miroslav22 and DJBlu, thanks for this great work !!

I was looking at the code patch, and if I understand well, the Lookup table for series link schedule (_scheduleLastRecordingStarted) it's not saved between TvService restarts.
So could I have duplicated recordings of the same episode if I restart TvService ?
