I'm still on 1.1.1, but only because there is no miroslav 1.1.2 patch yet (keep up the good work!). I don't plan on going 1.2.0 until its at least in Beta.


At risk of cluttering this forum, does anyone know of a better method of getting the Series Number info from the EPG info? - I'm currently running my own vbs batch script that carves up the description to extract the episode name (as it is frequently embedded in the description text), and matches it back to TheTVDB. Bit messy, but does the job half the time (and thereby enables me to quickly tell if its a new CSI or a very old one)!

M8, Sorry didn't PM back. All I did was comment the lookup on the Huffman to take out the 1/2 tables. And if the huffman failed it just created a "Cannot Decode" string in the Title/Summary.

I will release the code for the channel scanner after 4th Feb. Sky UK are planning a new channel numbering system that replaces SD channels with the HD ones. If you subscribe to them.

I'll be analysing the TS Stream when it happens and I'll modify the code accordingly.

Ah that's ok, it was actually a page fault causing the crash (when it tries to reset) so it's good that i've found and fixed that.

I had a leaflet through the door a few days ago, should be interesting to see how they do it. Will it just be a new set of bouquets?

I suspect they are going to use code within the HD box itself to do the switch, because the channels will only switch for people who have a HD subscription.

Can't see how else over the air stuff would know if you have a sub or not.

Also, regional channels are not switching either.. (BBC, ITV etc..)

Hi, I have installed as per instructions the OpenTVScanner_and_EPG_1.1.5.26909.zip supplied by DJBlu, and all seems to work well, accept that I still get quite a few "No data available" on some channels, for example:
CBEEBIES
CBBC
CITV
travel Channel
travel Channel +1
PCNE Chinese
Rural TV
Film 24

These are just a few examples. I chose London / SE.
Should I be seeing these channels populated with EPG data or should I not?

Hi Kev,

Yea they should populate ok. Are you sure you left it long enough to dump the entire EPG into the database? (it can take 10 minutes)

If you tune to a channel whilst processing it gets cancelled and stops where it's up to.

I also have the same problem as Kev. It is consistent on my system in that the following never populate:-

Sky Three
Yesterday
Channel One
Sky 3+1
S4C2
Community
Rural TV
Body in Balance
Men and Movies
Euronews

I have even tried a manual update from the config menu but still get the above channels showing as "No Data Available". I will at some point in the future upgrade to 1.2.0, so I just thought I would leave it until then. It is a minor issue, and from reading this thread you have a lot on, so didn't feel like raising it.

Hmm actually I did have the same problem with Sky Sports HD 4 for a while. For me I think it was caused by it being in the database more than once. It's probably a bug so i'll add it to the list

There really are some bizzare things on Sky - have you seen the Ocean Finance channel? what the ...!!!??
