For the users that are experiencing these slow startup times i have a couple of questions:

    A) How many movies are in your Moving Pictures collection? (approx.)
    B) Do you have UNC import paths (network shares like: //computer/sharename) ?

I'm suspecting something and i need you to verify the following if you have UNC import paths:

    1) Start moving pictures plugin configuration
    2) With the current issues it should get stuck at "Checking for deleted movies..."

When it's stuck (progress bar does not move for about 10 seconds) do the following:

    1) With the Moving Pictures splash screen still stuck click on Start -> Run (windows)
    2) Type: "CMD" and then click OK
    3) Now for each UNC path that is also in your import paths type the following:

    Code:
    NET USE \\computer\sharename /USER:computer/guest

Replace "computer" and "sharename" with the actual names of the network source, but leave /guest as is

    C) Does the moving pictures startup continue ?

To bring back/reproduce the slow moving pictures startup time:

    1) Make sure Mediaportal config is not running.
    2) Go to Start -> Run
    3) Type: "CMD" and then click OK
    4) Enter do the following for each UNC import path:

    Code:
    NET USE \\computer\sharename /DELETE

Replace "computer" and "sharename" with the actual names of the network source.
Don't worry the /DELETE will not remove files :)

    5) Start the Mediaportal Configuration-> Plugins -> Moving Pictures -> CONFIG

    D) Is the startup slow again (is it stuck on "Checking for deleted movies..") ?

    A) ~320 Movies
    B) Yes, all movies are on network
    C) No noticeable change. Still look about 5 mins to completely load
    D) N/A

logs are attached. Long startup time is everytime I start Mediaportal or Moving Pictures Conifiguration. let me know if there is anything else I can try.

Edit: Also, the delay when loading the config is stuck on the "Checking for deleted movies" status

Moving-pictures-0.7.1.496-alpha did not have this long loading time issue. (and the problem goes away when I revert back to that version)

I think I have this issue resolved. If you are experiencing this problem and would like to help verify the fix, please send me a PM. I have also opened an issue for this in our tracker so if you are interested in receiving email updates as progress is made, just star the issue over there.

For those a little wary of playing with experimental code with limited testing, this will be fixed in 0.7.2 which hopefully should be out within a week if ll goes well.

    First off, love this plugin.

Just wanted to say that I have the exact same problem as Tryzik.

    When moving pictures is enabled:

    1. Entering Moving Pic config takes about 5 min (hangs on 'Checking for deleted movies')
    2. When starting MP it takes a very long time (5-10 min) and hangs at "Loading windows plugins..."

I have ~350 movies accessed over a ntework.

Just thought I'd let you guys know... happy to provide logs if needed.

    Cheers, Rich

I have about ~150 movies on a server location, and I am also experiencing slow Mediaportal startup at window plugins/starting plugins. So I guess I have the same issue :)

Must say it gets worse every time I add more movies, so it all makes sense. Good to hear it will be fixed in the upcoming release!
