I have a Terratec Cinergy 600 TV with latest released official driver.
Here my results:

-- Media Portal
TV watching
Picture: good, no problems
Sound: okay, some hall at some channels

TV recording
WORKING, but i think i haven't configure my codecs very good, because picture quality is bad, and the in recorded movie are some frames missing
PROBLEM: during recording i can't watching TV, the video output is only a black screen

listening to -- Radio -- is no problem
TimeShifting isn't working, but note I didn't test this so long

-- Kastor!TV
TV watching
Picture: very good, quality
Sound: good

TV recording, Radio not tested yet

-- DScaler
picture quality bad, no sound
I haven't made a deep testing, only some minutes, but i think Kastor!TV is better
note: channel seaching or called auto-tune, is very fast

I have an Medion 8386 XL bought by ALDI the Netherlands who have an analog TV-card : Medion TV-Tuner MK2/3

With DSCaler works it fine (excellent picture) but cost a lot of processor power 60% (with Power Cinema 4.0 and Live Media Player Classic only 7% processor power) DScaler have also good teletext properties.
(I think guys who have bad picture by DSCaler they have not the good configuration)

graphedit works also good for my TV-card but MP gives a black screen, I have spanned a lot of time but only with black screen. The sound (audio) is good and also the channel selection.
And pitty there is no teletext under MP

Kworld Terminater (SAA713x) plays great /w Dscaler . I hope this thread didn't die .

It would be nice to see S/W support in MP . 3 out of the 4 computers in my house have S/W tuners .

MP would no doudt be on top /w this support added in , but until then SageTV will have to do

Hi My Medion TV-Tuner 7134 MK2/3 works perfect with DScaler.
with MP all works radio and TV only a black screen.
I hope that MP make this also sone possible for the analog version of the Medion 7134 BDA Analog TV-card (Medion 7134 MK2/3 by DScaler)

Have used dScaler for many years on a large number of analogue cards including Hauppauge WinTV, WinTVPVR, PMI Sweetspot cards and many cheap unbranded types. Mainly BT848/878 type cards

Picture quality on analogue cards is outstanding with minimal fine tuning and unmatched after careful tweaking. The app allows fine adjustment of all manner of picture parameters and lots of fine adjustments to the way the incoming video is digitised.

Deinterlacing is processor hungry but I have used it very successfully on 900MHz Athlon processors (a while ago) so recent hyperthreaded P4s and similar would not have a problem with it. I used it for many months on a fanless 2.26Ghz P4 and CPU temp was generally less than 60C.

dScaler also has lots of "quality features" such as ability to adjust size, brightness/colour balance on a per channel basis. Picture quality seems to have been the top priority for the guys that wrote it.

Having the ability to optionally allow MP to use dScaler to display picture from DVD and TV cards (with individual adustments on a per source basis) would considerably improve MP (in my view)

The picture quality possible using dScaler is unmatched by any app I have tried before or since.

I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro Remote Edition.
Tv Works great
Good Picture Good Sound ; I have the sound connected internally to the aux input of my soundcard
recording works good after tweaking it for 2 days.
durring recording there is no video displayed. video is just black only sound plays.

Cinergy 400 works without sound Pinnacle PCTV-Rave works

Cinergy 400 is working without sound but perfect picture in non DShowMode.
In DS mode picture is stuttering.
In normal mode all filters work perfect, recording is no problem, Quality is very high.
DScaler isn´t able to create a working DShow Graph for my other card (PVR 250).
I don´t think it´s very important to integrate DScaler, as my cinergy 400 already works perfect with MP, just as my PVR 250 does.
I always read that a 2,8GHz CPU is required to use MP with s/w encoding cards. THAT´S NOT TRUE !!!!!!!!!! It´s working without any problem with my 2 Ghz CPU (Athlon XP 2400+) as well as with the PC of my girlfriend (Athlon XP 1800+).
I changed capturecardsdefinitions.xml so that my PCTV-Rave card is recongnized and it´s working with MP. This card of course works with DScaler aswell.
