The problem seems to be with your video database. Please try to delete it:
1. Open MP configuration.
2. Click "user config files" in the top left corner, then select "open database directory".
3. Delete the movie/video DB file.
I note that you also have this problem:

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)

Since over a year my MP sometimes stucks while showing the welcome screen. It started once a week now it happens every second time...

It's working after some hours search: the Auto3D plugin which I haven't used for years was corrupting the start of the TV live stream from server to MP.
If anyone has a similar problem - disable all old plugins and then enable one after another :-)
