for MP to use that skin, you have to select that from the list within the config program, and if it's not installed normally, that isn't in the list.

If you copy the "Amped" folder, "Amped" won't appear in the "Plugins" section of "MP Config", so you cannot select it there.

But "Amped" will appear in the list of skins in the "GUI" section of "MP Config", and you can select it there to make it your default skin. Job done.
