Hi, did you restart after installing IRSS? If I remember correctly I also suffered similar long time ago and a restart fixed it. Maybe the service was not started first time around.

    Thanks for the reply

Yes, I did - I also verified that the service is running. I saw on the forum that many people experience exactly the same thing with the hauppauge blaster. I am however using the MCE remote and blaster.

I installed IR Server Suite - Test Build 1.4.2.3664 (maybe I should use another version?)
    I'm using MP 1.1.2.0

    Thanks again

    Mine is currently working with:
MP 1.2alpha (MP v1.1.5.0 according to the logged version)
    IRSS 1.4.2.3664

Have you assigned the blaster codes to both ports?
Assigned it to the correct/all tuners?

Maybe attach screenshots of all config screen then I can compare with mine.

    Thanks for the reply Rekenaar

I did a few tests and I can blast channels to the DSTV decoder if I use the IR Server Translator and the Virtual Remote. When I press any keys on the actual remote nothing happens. If I however open notepad it will print the keys I press on the actual remote. It seems that Windows intercepts the signal and it never gets to IR Server. I get the same results if I test with the IR Server Debug Client. The Windows Media Player service and "Use MCE remote" is disabled.

I'm thinking this might be a Windows 7 issue.

    ... Later ....

I disabled the HID service. At least I now pickup the remote button presses in the IR Server Debug Client. I'll look into the blasting problem if I get time tomorrow. So it looks like it's not Windows 7, but the HID service.

    Hi cacti

Another thought, are you sure you configured the IR-commands on the same TV-card that you configured the channels? Depending on the TV-card that you have there might be more than one listed and the IR-commands and the channels must belong to the same one. Also as Rekenaar said, its very important that you select both ports...

    Thanks for the reply Geov

I actually did not have time to play with the system again. I'll try to work on it this weekend.

I only have 1 TV card installed and I disabled the radio and IPTV functionality - only analogue is enabled. I currently use the PVR150 with RCA inputs, but plan to go to HD in the near future. I did setup the blaster to use both ports.

Like I mentioned earlier after I disabled HID, I can blast channels to the DSTV decoder using the physical remote and the IR Server Translator, so the problem seem te be with the TV3 plugin.

I'll check my settings again and if it does not work I'll post my config here like Rekenaar suggested.

    Thanks again :)

I decided to reinstall the entire system on a new HDD since the HDD I used was a bit noizy. I installed the system exactly the same way as before, but now the blasting works - same config, same everything. The only difference (and surely its not related) is that I did not install SAF4 and MPStreamed the second time round.

Well thanks guys for your help. I'm a bit frustrated since I would like to know what was wrong, but hey at least it's working.

    Hi

I while ago I wrote a perl script to modify the ZA xmltv guide file to include some categories and age restrictions for MythTV - this info is obviously also handy for MP. Unfortunately MP does not use the categories for colour coding the guide etc, but the age restriction is displayed. I publish a new file daily and it can be downloaded from:

    http://www.codeweaver.co.za/tvguide.xml.gz

For the new installations I also included the following files for download:

    tvguide.dtd
    logos.zip
    export.xml

The logos.zip file contains all the TV Channel logos for DSTV. The export.xml file is the channel list that can be imported via the server config. The names of the images in the logos.zip file has been modified to work with the supplied export.xml file.

I hope this safes someone some time.
    Enjoy!
