I can not use this skin. When I choose it in the configuration application all looks normal, but when I try to open MediaPortal using this skin nothing happens (besides Windows Taskbar becomes invinsible). This is the only skin I've tried that doesn't work.

I'm using MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 and using 1920x1080 as resolution in Vista. What have I done wrong and what is the SpinSafe1080_Vista.formattingRules for?

Check the FAQ in the first post, and see if it solves it.

If you have read the readme in the zip or the information in the download section you would see that SpinSafe1080_Vista.formattingRules are a rule file for my tvseries.
It contains rules how the starraiting and so on should work.

    Thank you for the reply.

I've checked the FAQ and I'm using MediaPortal 0.2.3.0, but I can't find the cache folder. The only 'SpinSafe 1080' folder Vista can find is the one in \skins\SpinSafe 1080.
How do I reset the cache?

aha, i have forgot to mention that in the FAQ. In Vista you will find the cache folder under c:\program files\mediaportal\cache\ or something like that.

    I finally found it!

The cache folder is in a hidden folder: ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache which Vista does not search unless you search specificly after hidden folders. (As a vista newbe at least.)

I have now deleted the SpinSafe folder and restarted MP, but is still does not work. :(
I can see MP is trying to do something because it uses 94 % of my RAM (Vista usually use 45 %), and 40 % of my CPU power (usually 0.2 %). The only thing happening is my toolbar becomes hidden but the Windows logo is visible (the round statr button) and I can not press anything with my mouse. I can still see my desktop and the Sidebar.

Do you want my log files? If so, which ones?

Sure, take all logfiles in the log folder.

mirk, I still have exactly the same problem, my error log is posted on page 6 of this thread. I have tried everything from deleting cache files to switching font folders with other skins and comparing code (my knowledge is limited here). I'm still very interested in your skin. Can you try to make this work please?

I'm finally able to use your SpinSafe skin! Allmost at least. I uninstalled MP and all skins/settings/ect. and reinstalled it all. Now I'm able to use the skin, but it does not work with MyFilms (4.5). I allways get a error message followed by MP crashing. MyFilms is working fine because in can use it without any problems with the Xface skin.

I have uploaded the old logfiles (when SpinSafe could not open) in the CannotOpen.zip folder.
I have also uploaded the new logfiles where I'm able to start SpinSafe but cannot use MyFilms (MesFilms) in the folder called CannotUseMyFilms.zip.

    I hope this helps you.

Edit: When I use SpinSafe MP/Vista uses all my RAM (2 GB) but when I am using other skins I only use 50 % of my RAM. Is SpiSafe suppose to use that mush RAM?

Here is some bugs for you, the pictures should be enough of an explanation. Let me know if you need more information.

btw, good job at implementing the fan art :) My pictures dont show it, but I did try.

I apologize if these are a result of the 1920x1200 res, but I need to try it out on my dev pc first otherwise the mrs will have a fit.

    Cheers,
    Damien

I have started to look in to why there are users that can not start this skin.
In all the log files attached so far in thread there is a "Exception: System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown" message. Witch makes me think this skin take too much memmory and the users that has problem starting the skin have not enough RAM.

So for all of you who has problem starting the skin, please attache all youre logfiles and let me know how much RAM you have.
