Hey mirk, i've looking into the XMLs in your skin and i think that there is a easy way to allow end user to customize the basic home screen icons. You just need to add a simple exe that search and replaces for a few strings into the files: BasicHome_labels.xml, BasicHome_move_left.xml, BasicHome_move_right.xml and BasicHome_links.xml. Then you need also supply some icons for using it into basic home (games, plugins, news reader, internet browser, burner, etc).

A link for return to basic home from My plugins could also be nice...

Am I doing something wrong? I don't get reflections, or the little circle navigation on the home screen, I just get the vertical scroll.

To see the reflections you need 0.2.3.0 RC1 or 0.2.2.0 + one of the latest SVNs.
The circle navigation is called Basic Home. You toggle between the homescreen and basic homescreen with the 'H' key on the keyboard or the windows button on the MCE remote.
If you want to start MP with basichome everytime. You can change this in the configuration program.

3) i've downloaded some interesting plugins for MP, My films for example (for viewing my Ant movies database) but it's not skinned using your skin, how can i solve it??

The only thing that's missing is a decent Icon for the home screen.. Could you look into that mirk? that would be great!

Remember to delete the SpinSafe Revolve folder placed in the cache folder.

Sorry for the stupid question...delete which folder? I get the same BlueTwo icon after overwriting the file with the new one.

If you use 0.2.2.0 and no SVN.
You have to delete the packedgfx* files inside the spinsafe revolve skin folder.

if you use 0.2.2.0 + SVN or 0.2.3.0
You have to delete the SpinSafe Revolve folder inside the cache folder placed in the MP root.

Some problems that i've saw:

1) Hexagon game display (see attached picture)
2) No icon for My programs (a joystick or something simmilar could be nice)
3) My news content overflow the area (see attached picture)
4) Last.fm time display it's too much to the left. It could be nice to move it to the right to keep more space for displaying the song title/ artist. (see attached picture)
5) The on screen keyboard has no skin, or it's really ugly... sorry (see attached picture)
6) My alarm screen texts are out of place in main screen and in other screens (see attached picture)
7) Worldmap plugin has no icon.
8) My sudoku has no icon.
9) My music videos has no icon.
10) My status has ugly icon from BlueTwo skin... i think that using the same or with little variations, than for My weather could be nice...

That's all for the moment, i hope that it helps to improve the BEST skin for MP. In fact i think that this skin should be installed by default for 16:9 screens.

When using this skin I get a blank screen after the MP splash screen.

BlueTwoWide does not have the same issue.

I've had this in the past when having the weather overlay plugin enabled (it seems that it can't be with the new SVNs....it keeps reverting to disabled when you go back into setup) and no overlay XML. Even though the overlay plugin is not enabled I tried copying the XML from BlueTwoWide, but same result.

I was using an SVN from about a week ago. I have since updated but still the same issue.

Is there something in the setup that i'm missing?


Just did a clean install of 0.2.2.0 and svn 12919 with the same result. The only "extra" I'm running is the MCE replacement plugin (only using the blaster part, not the driver).

Some people had this problem with my two other skins also. It has been solved by delete the contents of the fonts folder placed in the SpinSafe Revolve folder.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a go tonight when I get home.

Sorry for the late reply...got side tracked this past week. Anyway, deleting the contects of the FONTS folder did allow the skin to display. However, the skin runs very very slow.

I'm running a Core2Duo E6400 with 2GB 677MHz RAM on an Intel 965G chipset (I'm using the onboard GMA3000 graphics).

So, for now it's back to Blue Two Wide

If anyone has some performance tips please pass them on.
