Thanks for looking into this, I do hope it can be fixed as having Spotify inside Mediaportal would be fantastic.
Had a look at the logs and the only one that changes when I try and configure the plug-in is configuration.log so I have attached it, doesn't say much though. If you need something else, please ask.

It seems to be that Spotifier configuration doesn't work on Mediaportal 1.0.2. I'm not sure what is causing this.

Mediaportal 1.1.x versions seems to work fine, I'll investigate further.

EDIT: I have fixed the problem so the configuration of next release will work with MP 1.0.2

I've tried everything now but can't get the 0.3 version to work so i downgraded to 0.25 and it works.

Waiting for the next update...

Sorry, can't help you if you don't provide all the details about the problem, system, settings, versions etc. The problem probably doesn't go away itself in the next update.

- Mediaportal latest SVN 24923.
- StreamedMP Skin
- Windows 7 64-Bit
- Spotify and Spotifier both set to Finland
- Spotify Premium Account
- Installs ok, but when I search it doesn't display any results, everything else seems ok.
- Version 0.25 works but not 0.3

If you want more details just ask, so I'll try to help...

This is very strange because I have EXACTLY same setup here (my dev environment).

1) What are you trying to search for?

2) Do you get "Search completed: No tracks found" dialog when searching?

3) Can you post all logs to make sure there are no errors

4) What is your language format and location in Control Panel -> Region and Language (mine is Format: Finnish, Current Location: Finland)

5) In your Mediaportal installation folder there's a Spotifier folder. Can you give me the contents of spotifier.xml in this folder.

6) Make sure you copied the skin files too.

7) Try Blue3Wide skin just in case.

Hi, I found this randomly while searching for something that would allow me to do essentially this:

But it is mindboggling to have the ability to "store" spotify URIs in a local playlist, mixed with the locally stored MP3s. That would be a seamless integration.

I couldn't gather from the thread whether this is a feature of the plugin or not. If it is not I would like to request it. Thanks very much.

Edit:

OK I installed the plugin and read the thread a bit more carefully, and I think I understand what the difficulty with implementing such functionality would be. It's the integration of Spotifier into MediaPortal's built-in music player itself that would complicate it. So maybe instead of integrating them you could just give Spotifier the ability to play local files (in addition to Spotify tracks) independently of MediaPortal's bulit-in music player, and create "mixed" playlists that way. Unless that too would be difficult. Sorry, I'm completely green when it comes to this stuff.

Edit 2:

Another thought: there is another MediaPortal plugin like yours called My Spotify. It comes with an "Album Creator" that allows you to drag and drop entire albums (or entire playlists) directly from Spotify and create a playlist from that automatically. Maybe you could add this feature in the future as well. Although this is not as pressing for me, personally. It would be so much easier than searching for tracks and adding them to a playlist individually. Not to mention that sometimes it doesn't find the appropriate track, even if you provide both artist and track name.
