Start media from within windows shell (1 Viewer)

Is there a way to start playing media files in mediaportal by opening them from within programs like windows explorer, directory opus or even from the commandline?

Thanks for the quick response. However I don't want to open files 'like' the way it is done in eg the windows explorer from within the GUI of MediaPortal. I really want to open files from outside MediaPortal and use MediaPortal as the program which handles the processing of it.

    Not possible as MediaPortal was never designed to be used in such way. After all it is a HTPC application :)
