Any news about new skin files for MyFilms 5 beta?

Is there a v.5.0 out? The last one I saw was v4.9.1 - and there are multiple "test" versions of that.

As far as I know, the skinning is waiting until a final release as there's too much in flux at the moment.

I have a working version (with flaws) that works with the latest v4.9.1. I can send you a copy if you wish. I don't want to post it as I don't want a bunch of people grabbing it and then wondering why it doesn't work well or why it doesn't work with the final version. Also, I'm not skilled at skinning - just modified it based on the Blue3 skin.

I've also made a very basic StreamedMP version for testing, but stopped it when I read, that mattroby is willing to make a skin some time...
I don't think there will be much skinchanges until V5 release, but there are still some bugs to get rid of before release ...

I will post it here tonight when I get home from work and the kids are in bed . . .

I will also have to include some explanations about my mods.

(for example, I have the MPAA rating displayed in both the list and the details screen - so I will include those pngs - although if you don't live in the US, they are probably meaningless)

There really are only a few issues I have noticed with them - I will outline when I post.

Attached is the MyFilms skin I have modified from the Blue3 working skin.

IT IS A BETA VERSION as the myFilms plugin is currently being updated here. Get the most recent myFilms plugin v4.9.1.

I only use the list option - so I haven't confirmed the icons or filmstrip settings work.

Also, you will notice if you look at the actual XML files that I have tried to go through and identify each section with notes. Some of them may be incorrect, as it is a work in progress and I am new to skinning.

Problems I know about:
- escape doesn't exit to basic home yet - the guys working on the plugin know about this and I think it's on the list to be fixed.
- sometimes the fanart works properly, sometimes it doesn't (I just modified some of the sections last night (4/13) and I am still working on it)

I also attached the certification logos from MPAA (R, PG etc.) I use under id2001 which you can set in the myfilms config.

I have no idea whether the final version of the plugin will require additional skinning.

If any skilled skinners see anything that can be fixed or improved, please have at it.

Finally, so as not to step on any toes - this is all based on other's work - I simply took what I had and played with it until I got it to the point of working.

Make sure you check the MyFilms forum (I linked to it in my previous post). The fanart is set up differently than it was previously. First, you have to have a translated title for each movie - not just the original title. The plugin then creates a separate folder using <translated title> to store and access the fanart backdrops. You can either move all of your fanart into each subfolder - or, from within the skin - select refresh and run "Download Fanart". That will grab the fanarts from the online db and place them all in the correct subfolder. That way, the skin will loop through all of the fanart backdrops you have on your system.

However, there are some movies where no fanart is shown, even though I know there is fanart available - which may be a plugin or a skin issue.

It's not that big of a deal for me - I'm just waiting for the final version of the plugin before I try and finalize the skin.

One more thing - when you say it is "always showing cover as background image" do you mean the dvd poster? That may be because you have that option selected. I seem to remember that being an option (at work right now and I don't have MP installed here or I would NEVER get any work done). If I remember correctly, there is an option in the MyFilms plugin config that provides the DVD poster to be shown when there is no fanart available. I've never used this because the poster never looked right (stretched out to fill the screen).

That could be part of the issue.

Stretched picture is only skin issue - I have changed that also to get fullscreen image with right aspectratio.

Should give you fullscreen fanart based on coverimage with correct aspectratio 8and looks ok, if you have highres covers ...)

Thanks for the answer. 5 minutes after writing the post, I realized that cover was shown as background because of the option you say was selected. I prefer not to show background in case there's no backdrops, so I've set that off.

I also saw little laterthat directories with translated title into brackets appeared in the path of my backdrops... exactly the ones that I browsed within the plugin, inside MP. That's a little shame for me, because I've got 642 films right now, and have all my backdrops named as translatedtitle.jpg inside path specified in config (I can do it automatically, as I maintain two ant movie catalog databases, one for dvd covers, and one for backdrops)... Now I can't move all my backdrops to their special directory manually... I'll have to investigate and find some renamer soft that helps me...
