I am seeing this issue as well.
For me it occurs only during LiveTV and also sporadic.
Mostly it occurs after a TV channel has been watched for some time.
From the logs there are a few dropped frames (two roughly every 90 seconds for the time span the evr.log covers). This doesn't match the symptom where people have continuous stutter after a refresh rate change as you don't even change the refresh rate according to the logs. Not saying that the dropped frames are OK though, but it's not related to the issue described in this thread.

Indeed, a separate thread should be created for tracking that issue.

I was running mP in fullscreen while the problem occured again..

I had to "alt-return" it - putting it into windowed mode ...
sadly this caused playback to stop.
I then restarted the TV channel in windowed mode.
    Problem gone :(

    I didnt even minimize it.

anyways, it makes attaching graphedit very hard.
Also the problem might not even occur in windowed mode at all.

Ive attached screenshot of the graph when it works as it should.

I have both the issues that are mentioned in this thread:

    1. Sometimes when I start a video (and RR change occurs) I get mega stutter.

    2. After watching TV for a while, the image begins to stutter. This goes away and then comes back after a while. This might be related to codec issues though, I have a suspicion that I have (involuntarily) been using Reclock as audio renderer for TV for a while.

I am also seeing something else that I think may be related to these problems. Sometimes after playing a lot of different video files, the MP GUI becomes really sluggish. It looks just as when you're traversing the GUI while under a 24Hz refresh rate. I think this sometimes goes away when I play yet another video.

Anyway, I know I'm a bad for for not enclosing any logs :) I will get right on it as soon as I can.

ReClock cannot work with live sources. So, it shouldn't be used with tv at all in MP.

I know that, as I said I wasn't using it knowingly :) I think I had set the renderer to "default directsound device" or something like that, apparently that was Reclock.

    Thanx for the advice.

I tried this - but once the start menu appeared the misbehaviour likewise disappeared :(

I looked at a horizontal scrolling banner in some news broadcast.

It does look like it's deinterlace-FPS mismatch related somehow.

The height of that scrolling bar changed a bit. A few pixels in height.
It changed approx 2 times a second.

low ... high ... low ... high etc.

    changing codecs does not help.

Just press windows key and you can run GraphEdit on top of the MediaPortal :) (If you use Windows 7 or Vista and don't have to use that ugly exclusive mode from XP).

Indeed it sounds like a deinterlace issue. EVR renderer shouldn't react in any way to the window focus changes, so not sure if this is MP side bug at all.

    How often it happens?

Also could you check next time when it happens that what rendering stats the ! shows? (althou it is not showing accurate FPS, but at least we see if it is near 50 or 30 :)).

I would like to see those rendering stats but we need graphedit for this I take it ?

Or do we have any other means of displaying those in mP ?

    It happens pretty often.

Seems like if I watch some complete 23.976/24 fps movie and then returns to 50 fps TV, then hell is loose.
If I do some testing by starting 23.976/24 fps movie and instantly stopping it and then changing to TV, then it never or seldom happens.
It seems it always happens when I am watching a complete movie.
