It's not frozen but it doesn't do anything.
Sounds like you may have missed a step.
    The general process is:
    1. On the first tab, set location of tvguide.xml file.
    2. Click import. This will import your channels so you can do mapping on the second tab.
    3. On the second tab, select a channel group and click load.
    4. Configure the mapping. In other words, for each channel that TV Server had, select the appropriate guide data channel from the drop-down box.
    5. When you're done click save.
    6. Go back to the first tab and click import again. This will import your program listings for the channels that you mapped.
    Is that what you did?
If so, what does the status box say at the bottom of the first tab?
Thank you. I found an error in location of tvguide.xml and tried to run Import after correcting this location. The import status report remains blank. I suspect I would have to wait for a success status before going to the next. step. What else could I have done worng?

I tried reloading TV Guide by deleting the Cache folder in xmltv and running zap2xml manually with this command.
    zap2xml -u myemail -p mypassord -o myfile.xml -e -D
    It failed with the following:
    getting: http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...e&fromTimeinMillis=14385200000&aid=tvschedule
    [1/28] Parsing: cache/14385200000.html.gz
can't call method "gzread" at an undefined value at script/zap2xml.pl line 975

It worked fine the last time.

Created an account at zap2xml, set preferences and downloaded zap2xml
    ,
surprised that you are using zap2xml never heard of it before or used it. most people are the mc2xml program from http://mc2xml.hosterbox.net/

with recent changes mc2xml v1.3 does not support the legacy download option. If you get the donator version ($20 or so) you can use the newer win7 option. If you get a Schedules Direct account ($25/yr) you can use that EPG source with mc2xml v1.3.

some setup help for xmltv/mc2xml is in http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_..._TV_Setup/4_TV_Guide_Setup_(EPG)/XMLTV_mc2xml

If you have tvguide.xml and xmltv.dtd in the folder indicated in the XMLTV plugin then import should work. I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

    It failed with the following:
Sorry, I'm not sure what this means. Being based in New Zealand, I've never had cause to use zap2xml myself.

Well, mc2xml doesn't support data from Zap2It. zap2xml does. Hence its value. It's even mentioned on the mc2xml home page, so I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. :)

I am still unable to get any results from Import. No status update. Attached are the contents of my xmltv folder after the latest download from zap2xml. Does this look right? Do I need a newer dtd file? The Cache folder contains 3,725 files. Is there supposed to be a tvguide.lst file here and if so, how is that created?
Without successful import I can't go to Mapping.

Help please. (My wife is running out of patience with my inability to make it work.)

Everything looks alright there at first glance.
    Can you please also post:
    1. A screenshot of the first tab (general) in the XMLTV plugin.
    2. The tvguide.xml. Please zip first.

The screenshot makes it obvious. You've unticked "import new tvguide.xml". I'd eat my hat if that's not the problem.

Silly me. That was it. Import process completed in a few seconds. I guess staying up too late at night affects one's ability to think straight.
Thank you.[DOUBLEPOST=1438676887][/DOUBLEPOST]Now at the next stage. TV Guide shows channels but no data available. My zap2xml command includes -D parameter to include details (season/episode).
