That's interesting. I would imagine those cards would be using hardware encoder and not software encoders. I never had to change or adjust anything when installing MP1 TV server. I'll have to look when I get home from work what the settings are.

I looked and there is no information under the software encoder, which I would expect since it should use hardware encoding. I just reinstalled MP1 TV service and everything installed and scanned, however I did notice a difference. With the MP1 TV service it picks up the channels with names and half the channels are green and half are red. When I click on the Red channels even in MP1 TV service it says all card busy. In the MP2 server all the channels are red. I'm not sure if I need to post more logs or if anyone has a suggestion to try?

I dug around some more in the logs and found a discrepancy when running MP1 vs. MP2 TV service. If I use MP1 TV service I don't have to make any changes I scan and can go to manual control and start timeshifting. When I use MP2 TV service I can scan channels all show up red without any names and can't start timeshifting get all cards busy error as previously stated. I get this error even with MP1 stopped or even completely removed.

If you look at the following logs you can see the MP1 service says card found whereas MP2 says channel is encrypted but card has no CAM. Do I have to change anything when trying to run MP2 why does it work no problem in MP1 without any changes in settings, but not MP2 tv service?

Thanks for your investigations! I assume the issue you see is indeed related to the scanning rework, done by mm1352000. There were several changes regarding extended information retrieval and also detection of scrambled channels. Maybe there is a bug for ATSC, as we usually have very few testers in this area.

What you can try: IIRC you can change the "FTA" flag inside tuning details of the channels (channel list, edit details). Please try to set one of them to FTA and tune it.

    UPDATE

I checked the FTA box and was able to start timeshifting in manual control. So I then proceeded to startup local MP2 client, and was able to start and view that channel.

    Two questions/comments
    1) Is this only for single seat installation at the moment? (I only got to work on single seat other clients said no tv provider available when trying to run in remote client)
    2) I had to manually set this channel up not only for FTA, but also all the frequency information as well. It scanned in a bunch of channels but when I go to edit them there is no information in any of the channels.

Yeah. I tried this build now, too. It works really good. TV runs without some real configuration and timeshifting is running really good.
I like this. The only thing which didn't work while testing was the picture in picture with tv.

@morpheus_xx I'll recheck my nfo scrapper these days. Didn't have the time in the last month. House is eating my time....

hi am using the new version from front page. questions?
    1) in the "browse all media" there seems to be no way to get back up a folder level. yes you can hit "ESC" but could a "up level" or ".." also be put in for naving this way?

    2) in tvsetup i've scanned tv channels then unticked the channels that i dont want to see, but in MP2 client slimtv these channels still show up in tvguide? am i missing how to not show unwanted channels(without having to delete the channel)

    3) m4v file types not seen? morpheus_xx i know you were going to look into this but i understand you have other higher list of things to do.

    4) how do you turn off tv guide once it comes up? shift-g brings it up what gets rid of it?

    5) was playing with tv guide and tried to select a tv show based by line show where/time you are in tv show but keep getting "program already over" appear time line or tv guide is not accurate? if i selected next tv show it worked? picture o the best but was selecting the "B|B|Little" when selecting B get "program already over" select little ok even though line is over B?? hope this makes sense?

using snipping tool built into win7? anyone know a better way of getting screen dumps? or how to use snipping better?

    thanks

    Hi,

thanks for your feedback, I try to answer your points in short:
    1) and 4) Navigation inside MP2 is tried to keep consistent in all screens, so "Escape" and "Back" on remote control always work for leaving current screen. For media browsing we can consider ".." item as dummy for "Back" action.

    2) needs to be check, obviously the visibility flag is not considered. This is easy to fix, thank you.

    3) has been added the current dev branch already, I have attached a VideoMetadataExtractor config in another thread, I need to check were (edit: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/mp2-list-and-video-info-please.116644/#post-969306)

    4) I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, so let me explain the meaning of this menu: As so called "program action" you will find actions that can apply to the selected program:
    • running: watch now, schedule
    • future: schedule
    • past: "no action", program is over.
The list of actions can be extended by plugins: i.e. @huha developed a TvWishliist action for using the extended scheduling features of his great plugin.

Are there any plans to include the fixes for ASTC scanning then? As I mentioned not only does the FTA flag not get set, but it actually doesn't pick up on any information in the channel settings. And is this setup for remote client if so any reason I would get the TV provider not available when it does work locally on same TV server?
