Have been running my system with a viaccess cam for a long time but a whil ago i started to have problems with the channel is scrambled message appearing when i havn't used wathc tv for a while.
It helps to take out the cam and reinsert it but it bothered me enough to try and do something about it.

Since i heard the conax cam are suppose to work best with comhem i bought one of those but when I try it out it only works on the frist channel i watch if i switch the channel is scrabled comes up.
I tried in FDTV Viewer and the cam works great there.

Has anyone has expirions of the same problem?

What's the exact model of the CAM?

This is the cam i bought, I assume it's an 5.0 but I don't really now.
Komplett.se - Dilog Conax CAM, CAM for CI-slot (CA-Modul)

I have also got a new card from comhem but it's still the same problem.

I seem to be having similar problems to many others here. Just got my TT-1501 and Conax CAM (5.0).

Can't find all channels in TechnoTrend's mediacenter, but can get them in MediaPortal. When I try to preview most channels, TV-server just crashes. When I try to use My TV at all in MP, it just hangs (presumably because Tv-server dies). Has anyone found a fix for this ?

I also can't seem to get any of the channels to decode (mostly trying in TT MC). Is there something I need to do other than just move the card from my set-top box and plug it into my CAM ?

I have the same setup: TT C-1501 + CAM 5.0

It is working for me. Tv-server does not crash unless I change to a scrambled channel which I am not able to unscramble. Make sure you enable your CAM in MP (common mistake).

Read the suggestions posted by bluebear when I had the same problem. They were really helpful.

    Edit:

Ok, now I can watch TV, both coded and free channels. Bought and installed an antenna amplifier which helped a lot, and in one confused moment after a full re-install had forgotten to activate the CAM (thanks for the reminder weppe).

Tried a coded channel not in my subscription and MP turned to glue (atleast it ran very very slowly). I guess I should remove those channels from the list to avoid the mistake in the future...

Also ordered a new remote that is natively supported by MP (gave up on the Techno-trend and plugins when I found one for 188kr)

Now I need to figure out how to get it to grab the EPG, does anyone have any helpful pointers on how to do that ?

    Hi xmats

Getting EPG in MediaPortal is not very easy. You may use MP's DVB EPG grabber to get the EPG information from Com Hem over DVB-C but it has some drawbacks. MP's DVB EPG grabber may cause stability problems and Com Hem's EPG information is not very detailed (and they only provide one week of EPG I believe). Another way is to import a XMLTV file into the TV Server but it's not user friendly.
I was going to write a XMLTV guide in the wiki but it's not really a wiki since file management is not allowed by users
I'll add the guide here and you can be my guinea pig if you like :)

Set up and create the XMLTV file
The XMLTV file is a xml file which holds program and channel information for the next couple of days. There's many different programs that can scan web pages and save the TV listings structured in a xml file. I'll be using WebEPG, that comes with MP, to grab information from Dagenstv.com. The configuration file for Dagenstv that comes with MP (C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG\grabbers\SE\www_dagenstv_com.xml) is currently outdated so the first step is to update this file.

    1. Get an updated www_dagenstv_com.xml from here and replace the old file in the MP directory.

Next step is to configure WebEPG to grab your channels using Dagenstv. This can be done by linking every TV Server channel in your subscription to a "web channel" of Dagenstv using C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG-conf.exe. Instead of every Com Hem user having to do this manually I've attached some WebEPG configuration files for the most common channel packages (Small, Medium, Large, Canal+ and TV1000).

    2. Download the attached zip file and copy the WebEPG.xml of your choice to <user files>\WebEPG\WebEPG.xml (create the WebEPG directory if it doesn't exist). You can find the <user files> directory by opening Windows start menu -> Team MediaPortal -> MediaPortal -> User Files. Full path is C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG\WebEPG.xml for Vista and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG\WebEPG.xml for XP.

Now start C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG-conf.exe to see that it can find the configuration file. If everything is right it will look something like the attached picture.

WebEPG also needs a xmltv.dtd file in the same folder as the XMLTV file.

    3. Copy C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv\xmltv.dtd to the <user files>\xmltv folder. This is where WebEPG will put the XMLTV file.

C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG.exe will do the actual grabbing and creates the XMLTV file. It doesn't have any user interface so you won't see it running other than WebEPG.exe in Task Manager and a TVguide-writing.xml file in the <user files>\xmltv folder.

    4. Launch C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG.exe and wait until <user files>\xmltv\TVguide-writing.xml is renamed to TVguide.xml.

Import the XMLTV file to the TV Server database
The TV Server comes with a XMLTV plugin which imports a XMLTV file.

    1. Activate the XmlTv plugin in TV-Server Configuration -> Plugins.

    2. In TV-Server Configuration -> Plugins -> XmlTv browse for the <user files>\xmltv folder where TVguide.xml is stored.

    3. Make sure that Import new tvguide.xml and Delete old programs before import is checked and Import files in new tvguide.lst is unchecked.

WebEPG doesn't know what timezone to use for the web page from where it's grabbing so it assumes GMT. Since Sweden is GMT+1 we need to Apply timezone compensation.

    4. Set timezone compensation to 1h (2h for daylight savings time).

Check the second attached screen shot to verify settings.

    5. Open the Mappings tab, select your group if available and click Load/Refresh. All channels should be green since the WebEPG.xml is set to output channel names based on Com Hem's naming standard. Attached picture #3.

    6. Don't forget to press Save!

    7. Now go back to the Settings tab and click Import. You should get the Import status report filled out.

The EPG should now be filling up inside MediaPortal -> My TV. It will take a couple of minutes for all channels and programs to be populated so go take some well earned coffee :)

The TV Server will automatically import a new TVguide.xml. Just run WebEPG.exe once in a while to update your EPG. Or set up a Scheduled Task to do this for you.

Hope I didn't forget any details.

I'm having problem with SVT1, SVT2, SVT24, Barnkanalen and TV4, when I chose one of them nothing happens :( . But I can view Kanal5 , SVT HD and Axess and som more. Is it another codec in the not working or what could it be? I'm using a standalone server and tried with two different MP-Clients. RC3 of course.

    Guide was great!

I found the User-data folder on XP (atleast for me) to be C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal.

Some channels are red to me in the later steps, but that is probably just because I have not cleaned out me channel-list properly for the "Large" package I have. I need to figure out which challes are actually included :)
