Hi,

I don't know if this is the right thread but I'm getting desperate...

I recently installed 1.0 RC3 and everything went fine until I started with the TV-card (Technotrend C-1501). After scanning the channels I find all the channels I need BUT when I try to preview anything but SVT1,SVT2 and TV4 TvService crashes. The same behaviour is seen in MP. This happens as soon as I change channel to one which I don't have access to, which wouldn't really be a problem. I could just exclude those channels. The problem is that this also happens to channels I know I have access to. Annoying.

I'm starting to suspect that using the predefined providers (Göteborg and Stockholm) might not be correct since I live in Umeå. I can't find any information on the parameters needed to scan though.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome but please explain in detail since this is my first week with MP. I will attach my errorlog if anyone is interested.

What cable provider do you have? I´m having some problem with the mirrored unscrambled channels in kommunicera net on mux 426,410, and 402. Could be related. Here is my link on the problem.

If you need the provider list I have one that will work for kommunicera, but most likely with others as well.

I'm not sure if I have kommunicera but a provider list would be great.

I'm still having the same problems but I'm starting to suspect driver issues. I have a driver called "virtual bda dvb network adapter" that isn't functioning properly. Can someone else with a TT C-1501 card tell me how to fix this (maybe too much off topic)?

Right, that depends on who you rent your apartment from, but regardless here is some pointers. I use the TT-1501C card as well.

The Virtual BDA DVB network adapter is not needed, its if you use it as a modem. Ignore it and move on.
Mine does not work either.
Find out what network you use, if its comhem ignore my previous post.
Do you have it working with progdvb or the TT-Viewer? Might in that case suggest that its mediaportal related instead
of driver issue.

Your help is greatly appreciated. The learning curve is steeper than anticipated.

I definitely use comhem as the provider. I haven't tried progdvb yet, I will try it tonight and post the results.

Glad I can help, no reason to reinvent the wheel all over again. Another thing that came to mind is to check your signal and quality from your wall outlet. Bad signals have been known to cause crashes with mediaportal.

Ok, I tried progdvb. Here I cannot find all the channels I want, e.g. SVT1, SVT2, TV3, TV4 ...

The only channels I can find (they work excellent btw) are the Canal+ channels. When I do the channel search I get a list: "Comhem, town" but I can't find "Comhem, Umeå" and the channels mentioned above does not work or can't be found. Ideas?

Ok, you dont need to scan all channels if you don´t want to. The ones interesting for you is SVT1, 2 and TV 4.
Since you have found them in mediaportal i suggest you get the details form there.
If you think you are lucky, try blind search and start at 290 MHZ end att 800 Mhz, that should find all your channels.

Otherwise try this:

1. Open TV-Server Configuration
2. Click TV Channels
You will now see a list of all channels you have previously scanned
3. Mark SVT 1 and click the edit button, change flip to DVB-C and read out the frequency for that channel
Remeber or write it down
4. Do the same for SVT 2 and TV 4
5. Close TV-Server Configuration
6. You need to kill tv-server otherwise progdvb will complain
Use ctrl-alt-del, find "Tv-server.exe" and end task in process tab
(It can also be done in ms-dos promt)
7. Open progdvb
8. Click Channel List and use blind search
9. Type in an intervall so you will find your channels, they might be on the same transponder.
If SVT 1 is 402Mhz the type in the box:
From: 402Mhz
TO: 418Mhz
Let the step be 8 Mhz, Check 64-QAM box and then hit ok

10. You should find your channels now.

Don´t be alarmed if it looks hard, you will learn from the experience;)

I did the scan from 200-800 Mhz with increments of 2 MHz. The result was successful. I now have SVT1, SVT2, TV4 and most of the Canal+ channels. However there must be something I'm missing because I still can't find TV3, TV5, TV4+,TV4sport,...

All the channels at 290 MHz are working (SVT1, SVT2, ...)
All the channels at 338 MHz are working (most of the Canal+ channels)
No other channels are working.

The same in MP.

So you now have SvT1, 2 and TV4 that did not work in mediaportal, correct?
We could say its at least a semi success and you now that the channels work as they should, at least the one you
have found.

From here you have some alternatives since I do not now what frequencies all your channels should be at.
Try with incrementing by 1 to be absolutely sure and maybe with a wider span. Say 150 - 800.
It could be that some channels are on another QAM, but I find that unlikley. With a bruteforce aproach
you will find all channels on that QAM at least.

However, we are at this moment not any closer to know why it doesn´t work in mediaportal.
Try scanning only one channel and start with 290Mhz in mediaportal. It would most likely follow the provider and find all your channels. Try rescanning if mediportal still crashes.

You can preview them in the TV-Server Configuration when you press tv channels. By doing so you don´t have to start mediportal frontend and that will save time.

EDIT: I strongly emphasize that you check signal and quality levels from your outlet.

Hi,
Is there anyone with a fully working webEPG configuration for all or for most of the channels?
Please share the config-file if so.
