Hi all..

Just wondering if this would be a easy fix with a SVN down the track, or should i just downgrade to ver 1.0.0.0 again.. Everything else works great for me so far, just the timeshift and recording in TVE2.

I just would hate to downgrade as i have everything setup as i want with logo's if i have to do a complete clean & reinstall etc ...

So would it be somthing high on the list of fix's or because it's a legacy thing, the TVE2, we wont see any fix for awhile, till probably 1.0.2.0.

Thanks for all your hard work guys.. :)

Denman I have been trying to get these types of problems resolved for years. The issue apparently is that there is no developers in Australia, and as they would have all tested the final build, and it would have worked for them in their countries, so there is nothing to fix.

Same must have happened with the large number of testers who should have also tested these functions.

So it looks like it's due to our slightly different DVB here in Australia. Well that is what I have been told in this forum, but actually finding out what happens in MP is pretty much impossible via these forums where things are then explained as "secret" or some other user knows why but they never reply. The real answer may be between the two.

If u can afford it grab a spare hard drive and image your running install before testing the new releases.

Just to put some perspective on this, I've been running with MP and MP TV Server (client/server on same box) with no problems on 1.0.0.0, including timeshifting and multiple DVB-T tuner cards. (Avermedia 777's I think).

    Hi All,

Same problem for me : MP freeze when I try timeshift or a record.
I use MP 1.0.1.0 with TVE2 and when I downgrade to MP 1.0.0.0 : no more problem !

This is not just a problem for Australia, its a problem with TVE2. Please read the other users reports.

    Hi Devs,

Please please could you guys look into this? There are many threads popping up about this so I think lots of people use TVE2 as it was plenty good enough for most HTPC systems. I really don't see the need to have TVE3 as I have a dual tuner card on a single PC installation. The TV server / sql install seems too complicated and unnecessary. Please save TVE2!! :0)

    Cheers,
    Colin

I don't have the problem you guys are talking about (just saw the link to this thread from the post about MP 1.0.2 being released and thought I'd check it out) but as far as installing the TV server/sql is concerned I've got to say that there's nothing complicated about it - it's a "one click" install so why not just change if it's going to fix your problem(s)? Just my 10 cents worth. (Note: I'm running a single seat install with MP 1.0.1 + TVServer and using ForTheRecord as the TV plugin, which far exceeds the capabilities of the built in TVPlugin....)

As we did state many times in the past allready, the inbuilt TV-Engine of MediaPortal is nolonger supported.

It was only keept in for legacy reasons. But in my opinion, it is finally time to remove it completelly since its not supported anymore.
This topic will be discussed in the team.

    stay tuned.
